Tesla unveils Cybertruck
Ain't that the truth.
Although money is nice to have (I myself, though not loaded, have more than what I need), simply having it is no guarantee of common sense or intelligence. The Riches-to-Rags road is as common, if not more so, than Rags-to-Riches.
All the more reason to elect sensible people to public office....but I won't go into that any further because it will make the thread too political.

There are plenty of people who would never buy a Tesla, or any EV, until the government inevitably forces them to.
Your own bias is glaring here. The guy is undeniably brilliant, talented and successful. You will never achieve a fraction of what this guy has achieved if you could live 100 lifetimes. I won't either...but I'm not calling the guy a fool

When you have built a $24B fortune, come talk to me...otherwise quite frankly youre the one who sounds foolish lol. When somebody like Elon talks, smart people listen, fools throw stones and think they're smarter.

I don't have to have 25B to say Elon Musk is an idiot who sells garbage cars that have fit and finish no better than a Pinto, if that. And he likes to blow smoke up peoples rears with his stupid ideas...the latest is the submarine. Do people really subscribe to this crap? The company has barely even turned a profit.
Not trying to argue the last point, just that it reminds of a quote from Who killed the electric car?. Anyone else remember GM's EV1 back in the 1990s? Owners loved the EV1 but GM and the oil industry saw to its demise. Sorry to go off on a tangent but I'm reminded of the quote, "EVs are not for everyone, it only meets the needs of 90% of the population." I have to go back and rewatch that documentary. The EV1 was probably the only GM product that interested me 20+ years ago.

I can have an opinion on the geopolitical situation in the Arab world, but that opinion would be worthless because I have no idea what I'm talking about.
Someone doesn't have to be "a fool" to do foolish things. NOBODY that has achieved that sort of success is "a fool", including Donald Trump.
The issue is when you let your own irrational hatred of a person or a product make you blind to the brilliance of what has been done that is so clear to everybody else, you look completely foolish. Anybody who denies the significance of what Elon Musk has done with Tesla has no clue what they're talking about, its just obvious. Its everywhere. I drive by 3 supercharger stations every day, 5 years ago nobody knew what a supercharger was. Anybody who denies the multiple successes that someone like Elon Musk has had in his life has no idea what they're talking about.
I don't know if a Tesla ran over your dog or something but your hatred of these cars and this man is truly baffling to me. I just dont see anything to hate here. Do they frighten you or something?!?

We don't know that. I have been around long enough to know there have been plenty of brands that have come and gone over the years, brands that have been on the top and then fall. Disappear. Become irrelevant. The company Research In Motion comes to mind with their Blackberry brand of smartphones.
Tesla will continue to lead in EVs for The foreseeable future.
Btw he has a company called SpaceX to fall back on that sends rockets to space and used by NASA.
I think Elon will be ok.
Yes, I do agree
I do not agree. As other brands start to enter the EV space, the incredible resources from these companies will just outweigh Tesla. Mostly the marketing.
Key word, fall back on. I don't think the Tesla brand will succeed for the long haul.
So going back to Cybertruck...I think the truck is wild. Totally amazing. However, the stock market apparently did not.

So who do u see in automotive world having anything close to what Tesla currently offers???
Porsche will have a 4 seat $200k EV that will sell in miniscule #s.
BMW and MB have no dedicated EV that is close to model 3 even. i4 will be the new 4series with EV powertrain.
Jaguar is dead in EV.
Ford or GM? They can’t even do regular engine cars but ppl will buy their EVs haha.
Toyota, Honda etc are 10yrs back in EV tech with nothing on horizon in next 18-24 months.

It is not about overtaking. All the major brands, as they enter the EV space, their enormous resources will just slow Tesla down. There will be no leader, they will all have a piece of the pie and you will see Telsa struggle to grow. If you give Ford the Cybertruck, (like they requested) they will find a way to spend the money to find the weaknesses and exploit it all via their engineering and marketing.
