I don't consider that an ugly wheel at all. Definitely one of the better two-spoke designs I've seen. And the nice wood-rim doesn't hurt it any, either.

Has any dedicated Genesis dealerships opened in the United States?

And I mean something more than a showroom tacked onto some Hyundai dealership.

In most cases, no, but Hyundai/Genesis of Chantilly, which is not far from my house, an enormous dealership by Hyundai standards, is not a very old dealership. I believe it first opened up under the Hyundai franchise with the understanding that Genesis would shortly be added, so it was (more or less) designed with the concept of Genesis in mind from the start.

That's a beautiful exterior and very elegant interior! I'm not sure I love the steering wheel, but everything else is awesome, especially the open-pore wood. Not sure I love the blue color. My only gripe is that the grill seems a bit big, but at least it flows with the rest of the car decently.

It's really great, and it seems Genesis has simply made the GV80 a 'tall' version of the G80.

When you think about it, this is literally the only "new" midsize luxury-branded sedan left to come out of Asia (no, Volvo doesn't count), and might soon be the only one left to pick from if you refuse to go European.

The Infiniti Q70 died last year, the Lexus GS will die next year, and the Acura RLX is as old as the GS with no updates in sight and will likely not last much longer for the brand. I mean I guess you could count the ES, but it's an entry-level sedan and not in the same league as the rest.

You know things are off when the only Asian rival the G80 has right now is from its own sister brand: the Kia Stinger.

Woo what a looker!
More pics here but I liked the looks of the G90, and really liking the design approach of this new G80!
Fastback rear reminds me of an A6/A7 or even a Honda Accord but I, for one, do like that grill and those headlights are just killer...

Great design in and out. Just one thing that I noticed immediately in the interior pics. The 2021 Sonata like steering wheel.

The best looking mid size luxury sedan right now imo. I have been saying for the past year, I can't see myself sticking with Lexus. Genesis imo is currently blowing Lexus out of the water when it comes to design and I am someone that do like Lexus grills. Not to mention modern engines. Genesis is here to be a player in the luxury segment and I am excited for their future.

But Lexus decided they don't need another GS. Maybe new GS wasn't up to par with this or any new models in the segment coming out.

Ditto! The thing with the Genesis line-up is they are susceptible to lower-than-average resale values (due to the Hyundai relationship) so potentially you could pick up a 1-2 year old version of this for pretty cheap soon!

Don't get your hopes up, Genesis depreciation is nowhere near German territory.

You -think- they depreciate more because you forget that they were originally much cheaper priced to begin with. The old G80 started at only 42K- that's Lexus ES territory- and decent 3-year old low mileage base models will run you 25K+. The new one will likely be a fair bit more expensive like the GV80 SUV.

They have actually been holding their value well. I was looking for a 2016 Genesis G80 last year and they were still a bit pricey. Now that I see the 2021 g80 I no longer want the 2016 lol.
