2019 Genesis G70

The BMW 3-series, of course, has long-dominated this segment (compact upmarket sports-sedan), going strictly by the numbers. But Motor Trend''s COTY award traditionally is not based so much on sales-potential as it is on the judgement of the staff as to which vehicle actually makes the biggest contribution to the state (and advancement) of the auto industry itself. I agree with the award, even though I have not formally reviewed or test-driven a G70 yet....though I did drive a Kia Stinger which shared a lot of the G70's mechanicals. I plan to look at one when I go to check out the 2019 G80 AWD, which will be on my (potential) shopping list for my next car a couple of years from now. Alex Dykes, though, in one of his latest videos, explained why Genesis is having trouble bringing the 2019s to market.

I would say a new g80 would at least be 'pretty nice'
meanwhile, the g70 still isn't available in the u.s. hardly anywhere due to the dealer rebranding... but that should be fixed by end of year.

I really like the G70 and would consider one if the rear seat was larger. I'd like to see one in person but currently there are no G70s listed within a 500 mile radius of me (Seattle).

The G70 is available in the US. Four random dealers. There is no rebranding issue Go to Genesis.com There are dealers all over the United States.

Just four dealerships is basically unavailable in the US unless most people want to do some serious traveling which most buyers/lookers are not going to want to do. Genesis cars now can only be sold at standalone Genesis dealers, they can't be sold at Hyundai dealerships anymore, there are hardly any standalone Genesis dealerships in the US so there is a serious issue with supply/dealership availability until they get it straightened out or more Genesis dealerships are built/open up.

*** Genesis' own website *** says the following when you go to "locate a dealer."
2019 GENESIS MODELS COMING SOON
The new 2019 Genesis models are coming soon to your local Genesis Retailer. Please sign up to get notified when the new 2019 Genesis models are available.

If I'm after a 2019, it doesn't even let me locate my nearest dealer.
And as an aside, I happen to know my local dealer anyway, and they have ONE car in inventory. A 2018 G80. I live in one of the bigger and more affluent markets in the US.
There absolutely is a supply/rebranding issue. I really struggle to see why you're so high centered on proving everyone wrong when the weight of evidence says otherwise.

I don't know why you persist with this, I really don't.

My local Hyundai/Genesis dealers does not have a single G70, they have 2 2018 G80's on the lot and that is it. They won't be able to sell any newer Genesis cars until this dealership deal gets straightened out, it is like that with many Hyundai dealers and the reason sales have dropped off so drastically in the US. I am not traveling hundreds of miles just to look at a G70.

The closest available G70 to me is 894 miles away. Certainly answers the question as to why I haven't seen one on the road yet.

Wow. Why do you keep arguing? Do you have any idea how large the US is? How long it would take for the avg person to get to just 4 or even 20 Genesis dealerships scattered across the US that carries them? We are talking about it being in such limited availability in the US it is unrealistic for the avg person to be able to look at one or buy one without some major traveling, which is why sales of Genesis cars have fallen so flat so quickly and will remain flat until they get the dealership issue fixed.
