It was a long wait....but worth it.

Though some GM cars offer that option, I didn't see them offered on the Lacrosse's order-forms)...but I can always put them on myself (more cheaply) from an aftermarket shop, like I did on the Verano. It's not a difficult job to put on the aftermarket ones if you measure, cut, trim, and apply them carefully so that the doors open/close without binding.

Congrats! Glad you got what you wanted. Look forward to a real pic and more driving and operating impressions in time.

Fuel Mileage Report:
So far, I'm averaging 20-21 MPG, trip-computer-indicated (which is right around the EPA City figure), on Recommended-87-octane, in (mostly) suburban and stop/go conditions....and that's with a brand-new engine that is not broken-in yet. That's not bad for a V6 with more than 300 HP in what is, by today's standards, a full-size car. The shedding of some 300 lbs over its immediate predecessor, the efficiency of the new 9-speed automatic, the start/stop system, and my conservative driving style, I think, are all playing a part. I have no doubt that, on a long Interstate trip on relatively level ground, I'll get the official EPA 31-MPG figure or better.
(Interestingly enough, this Lacrosse is getting about the same mileage that my former, much smaller Verano did with the 4-cylinder and six-speed automatic......but I think part of that was also the Verano's weight and Opel-derived solid, stout construction)
To put it in perspective, the big 1965 Buick Electra 225 I had in college (which this new Lacrosse replaces in spirit), which weighed 4284 lbs.(I still remember that weight figure on that old car's registration, 46 years ago), had a huge "Nailhead" 401 c.i. (6.6L) V8 with 325 HP and 445 ft-lbs. of torque, the 3-speed ultra-smooth Super Turbine 400 automatic, and averaged 8.5-10 MPG in stop/go conditions. The best I ever did with it (with the required Premium 100-octane leaded fuel) was 17.2 MPG on the Pennsylvania Turnpike driving back from Ohio to D.C.
