It was a long wait....but worth it.
Thanks......close enough for half a cigar, at least.
(Supposedly), on lower-line models, it is not real wood, but IMO a pretty darn good convincing fake, both in look and feel.
Thanks. Health is generally quite good, though I'm pretty much relegated to swimming now for my daily exercise, as my knees, though not painful at all for simply walking relatively short distances in a normal manner, are best left off of treadmills, running, or overdoing the distance.

I love the dash, and it's flowing swath of luxurious wood. It all looks modern and clean inside, which is where you'll spend the most time.

Enjoy in good health!
Thanks. 5 or 6 years, at least, is what I'm hoping for. That's when I usually get a new vehicle...though we'll wait and see what the market looks like then. At this rate, though, large premium sedans seem to be a dying breed.....victims of the ever-growing SUV craze.
Agreed. I still think that this is what Caddy should have done with the DTS's replacement....instead of essentially making a line of American BMWs. They can keep the CTS (or CT6) for the RWD enthusiasts, and make a Cadillac version of the Lacrosse for the Caddy traditionalists. Yes, a lot of those Caddy traditionalists have blue hair, but they don't have one foot in the grave yet....and certainly not both feet LOL).

Just don't complain about the hard plastics - as an ES driver, I understand
I generally don't mind hard plastics as long as they hold up and don't break, and aren't in places where I like to rest my arm or elbow.
The LaCrosse is an American ES and that's no bad thing because plenty of drivers still want quiet, large and comfy sedans.

I've probably mentioned this umpteen times, but I had a big used Buick Electra 225 in college (couldn't afford a new one), and never forgot it, although Buick/GM quality tanked just as I left college, and stayed that way for well over 30 years. Only recently has the nameplate (partly wth Opel's help) done well-made cars again.Which s-type are you referring to? Jaguar?
Or a Mercedes S-class? It's certainly not as roomy inside as a Mercedes S-class....especially with the wide console.
think the boat tail Rivera was a great design.

Thanks, Andrew. It's not much of a car compared to the Mercedes AMG products like you drive, but, yes, it's basically the type of car that I like....comfy suspension, soft seats, reasonably nice trim, and (by my standards) still affordable. Sedans like that will soon probably be a dying breed in the U.S.

It's the most comfortable car I've had since I was in college..but only time will tell if it is reliable.
Yeah, I liked Buicks when I was young, too...especially the big RWD Electra 225 I had in college. Me and my closest friend, who had a big Oldsmobile 88, never bought into that nonsense that a number of our other friends were telling us.....that you had to be 80 or 90 years old to drive one LOL. Nonsense then....nonsense now.
As far as reliability goes, the most reliable Buick, to date, has been the Verano, which was essentially a rebadged German-designed Opel Astra with a GM four cylinder drivetrain and Buick Quiet Tuning sound-insulation. The current-generation Lacrosse, being a basically American platform, does not seem quite as solidly-designed as the Verano in the sheet metal and some interior hardware, but outdoes the Verano in rough-road ride-comfort, interior room, engine power (with the V6), and flexibility/smoothness of the new 9-speed transmission.

I have a soft spot for Buick (since my first car was a Buick)
and from what I can tell this is one of the best cars they have built in a while.
Congratulations. You waited and waited and tilted back against CL Car Chatters who told you to buy one off the lot. But in the end you got what you wanted and that's always a fine thing. Money and saving of money is good thing, but not when you don't get what you want if you plan on keeping something for a few years.
