To get the G80 Sport's V6 with its 365 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque, you'll need to spend at least $56,225. That will net you the rear-wheel-drive version. For another $2,500, you can get your Sport with all-wheel drive. Regardless of drive wheels, the Sport features unique front and rear fascias, dark chrome and bronze-finish trim, upgraded suspension, vented rear disc brakes, more aggressive transmission tuning, and unique interior trim.
For not much more money, though, you can pick up the more powerful V8-powered G80. It now starts at $57,975 for a rear-drive model, and all-wheel drive again adds $2,500 to that price. That's about a $1,700 difference to go from the Sport's V6 to the 420-horsepower V8. However, you won't get the Sport's performance upgrades.
I have not seen one yet on the road since debut. Just checked on cars.com, dealers are already discounting 20% with v6 version and 15% with the v8. Checked the G90, also about 15%. Are they going to sit just like when it carried the Hyundai name brand? If they do, I might just wait until 2018s come out and grab one for 30-35% off

The G80 is outselling the GS by a wide margin and other cars in its segment, the G90 is outselling the LS and A8. People are buying them, I have seen several G80's on the road but no G90's yet.
See plenty of GS's around here, and also a fair amount of G80's. Both great cars in my opinion. Hyundai really deserves accolades for their recent progress.
I saw it in person at NY show and really like the styling.
But at over $60k when all is said and done, I rather get a 540i.
STRIPPED 540i starts at $58K and you'll never see one for that price unless you order one. G80 will have massive discounts....+ right now the G80 5.0 w/ultimate pkg is $55K (every option)
I'm absolutely interested in the Genesis value proposition, especially the G90. I know they're not a "new" automaker per say, I just have a personal discipline to avoid buying the first-year model for a variety of reasons (testing what resale values look like in year 2, reliability, customer reviews after 12 months etc.) but very much interested in this as a replacement of my LS (or get another LS is the alternative) given the awesome bang for the buck the G90 provides.

Base 540i is not stripped by any means, go see all the standard stuff.
My build with Msport pack is about $65k. Never buy off the lot.
Not to mention the B58 inline 6 with the ZF trans is way superior to this V6 turbo.

Doesn't matter. At the end of the day people want the name brand and fancier interior and tech.
Sit in a loaded G80 and it's still not anywhere as nice as a base 540. I know I'd get the Bimmer 100% of the time.
I see the G80s around me all day long, the G90s not so much, I would like to see them produce a plug-in version of the G90, if they did, it would be my next vehicle.
