I really hate hybrids. I drove the 2021 Toyota Sienna Hybrid, and I drove the 2021 LS500h, and I can only describe them as...horrible. They are both buzzy when you need power, the power train feels weak, and the CVT's suck. I would rather keep and drive my 2013 Sienna with the 3.5L V6 and pay more for gas. And go to Costco and wait in those long lines, LOL
V6 Toyota hybrids are nice, gobs of power and don't need to rev the wee out of the engine to make it. Toyota's currently strategy of stuffing their corporate wheezie king 4-cylinder into everything is very unfortunate.

Yup. We borrowed someone’s Leaf once. Had it for a week. We own a condo in Toronto. Absolute chaos living with it.
35 min can be done at home?
Not unless you have a Level 3 fast charger. Since most charge overnight, this is not a concern. The nearest fast charger is only 5 minutes away from my home, so there would never be a reason to fast charge from home

I don’t think fast charging will ever really work realistically . The type where you go to a charger and plug in/pay and wait. I do think home charging is ideal, especially overnight of course. But eventually taxes are coming. I see that it costs $500 a year for the Lucid Air, but I think it will increase over time due to the dreaded tax man
My wife has lived with an EV for 1 year, drives about 13k a year and has never had an issue with range or charging. She was extremely weary at first, but now loves it. Perhaps you had an early Leaf that didn't have much range

I think that's speculation that is unfounded. There's no evidence for that is the case
It will be no worse than what you pay for gas tax now. Big deal. In California, I already pay the EV tax which offsets the gas tax i would have paid. Big tax man coming for an extra hundred or two won't bother anyone.

I drove both the 2021 LS500 and LS500h, and I they drove like night and day. I really did not like the drivetrain or the way the hybrid version drove, and that has the V6. Maybe because I drove them back to back, but the LS500 is superior in every way

The LS500h really is not made for America. Its made for Europe and places that have really high gas prices/taxes

I respectfully disagree. Grids that can't handle the mass of cars in the future..currently there are brown outs in Cali...then you have the idea that some places want to knock off gas to heat homes which will then move to electric...then their is the dreaded weight of these new electric cars that will wreck more damage to the roadways..it will be very expensive run the future to own and operate almost anything electric.
Back to Lucid..do you pay more for range? Or does range increase as the vehicle increases in price?
Like everything that exists, you pay more for higher range. The lower end Lucid Air runs around $69K before the EV rebate goes 408 miles and the top of the line Lucid Dream which is about $100K has a range of 522 miles. 400 miles is plenty for me, both my IS350 and 2013 Sienna get max 350 miles on a full tank

The rubber band-ish effect of a hybrid 100% does not fit a high end luxury car at all, plus it is being compared to a twin turbo V6. Neither are in the same universe of a fully electric drivetrain it is beyond baffling why Lexus didn't make the LS a BEV then have the tech trickle down.
