as you say, small # of stations but that still represents a lot of people but still a TINY % of people. people waiting in line, burning gas and reading facebook as they wait... makes perfect sense
True, the population is in the millions so a few thousand going to a Costco for gas in a day is a small % of the population, but then again I could drive in and out of the Chevron in 5 minutes, so who knows. Saving money makes perfect sense to me
not all
True, there a lot of people who waste money
meanwhile, people making boatloads of money because they value their time are getting gas at those empty stations
Possibly, but I guess I'll have to make due with waiting in line with all the other peasants

in Delaware we have cars coming over from PA and NJ and MD to get their gas, for tires people come as far as Canada ...since there is no sales tax here,
Every Costco I go to has a crazy line for gas. I personally wouldn't wait but I can visually see the crazy lines. I think you overestimate the value that many people attach to their time.
If you think people won't wait to charge an EV, then we will agree to disagree. I've already many people switch to an EV without a home charging solution and they are more than happy to wait a bit to charge to save on gas. I'm just glad my car comes with 200+ miles every morning

What lengths people do to save money is extraordinary. Waiting 15-20 min to charge an EV for a roadtrip that has much less running costs doesn't seem so far fetched.
No way...plugging in every night is just way to annoying and it takes hours to charge (even though its during the time you sleep). It will never happen...
I know man, next thing you know, they are going to force us to stop using keys to open doors and start our cars. What's the world coming to...
@LexsCTJill would say "this is all very fascinating". 😃
Thats why I NEVER go to Costco. There is literally nothing there that is cheaper enough than somewhere else to make it worth it to me to deal with the cattle call that is Costco. My wife loves Costco, I would rather have my teeth drilled than even pull into the parking lot.
It all goes back to value. Something is not a better value because its cheaper, its what you get for the money. Its great to save money on gas, but if I have to endure the frustration of sitting in line for 45 minutes to an hour + to get gas, then that has no value to me. IMO, my time and frustration have a value on them to me that is way higher than $1.50 a gallon. Now, I know gas is cheaper in certain areas, so when I am in one of those areas I will get gas whether I need it or not...but to sit in a line like that? I wouldnt do that for FREE gas, truly.
