the w211 was purely handsome. i still remember when i first saw it in MIB2, i was like wow damn....
Love the W211, best looking E class inside and out to me though many interior bits and pieces were actually pretty low quality/hard plastic. I still like the look of them. I remember around 2003 when the supercharged V8 AMG W211 E class came out and did 0-60 in 4.3 seconds, that was huge back then, I remember talking to a couple older muscle car guys who read that and were blown away back then. The newer 212 is so ugly in comparison, the rear is so bland and awful, it looks like something Hyundai would come out with where the Genesis sedan actually looks better. I wish they stuck with the round headlight theme or peanut lights which also looked pretty good.
leaked a day early! Love it, Im pretty sure this will be in my garage next year. Of course, the pictures are fully loaded models. The metal burmester speakers in the doors are beautiful, and the digital gauges are optional
What is wrong with America today that most people think that this type of interior styling in an expensive car is acceptable? It's a freaken BOX for a dashboard! This is about as lazy as any designer can become- just make one long rectangle and throw all gauges and info inside. It looks no different than a 1970's Buick, with a jumbo rectangle shape spanning atop most of the dash. Unimaginative, dated, bloated, lazy, and a throw-back to a retired era. There is absolutely nothing progressive here. The stand-out retro air vents are also warts on a face. Very disappointing in the S-Class, and now just as shameful in the E-Class.

You mean a 1980s Buick 70s-era Buick dashes weren't that much different from the 60s or 50s.
Have you driven a recent E-Class, though? It is quite a nice product on the road....retro dash or not.
