I disagree. Turbo four is perfectly fine for a medium sized car. Question is why Lexus turbo is so lazy and why is it heavier then six cylinder.

Relax. There's a Mercedes E250, BMW 528i, Audi A6 2.0t, Cadillac CTS 2.0t...a GS200t isn't going to hurt.

its 300lbs lighter than NX200t that tests 7s 0-60, so it should be quick enough... as to the weight, obviously turbo, intercooler and all the plumbing is heavier than 2 extra cylinders.

it is likely luxury trim... but as usual, you wont be able to option out 2.0t with exactly the same equipment as 350, at least not in the USA. For some stuff, you will need 350.

For instance, was VGRS previously in 350? I kind of dont remember that from reviews.

Also, they added matte wood option as well... previously it was only bamboo in GS450h.

Maybe they should have badged it GS300T, which I guess is what this engine is the equivalent of in terms of bhp and torque.

Mercedes badge the similarly powered 2.0T as 300 and BMW 2.8i, so Lexus could have left the 200T badge for a 200 bhp version of the engine in the IS, much like BMW with the 2.0i and Mercedes with the 250.

Now we just need a GS400TT with a twin turbo 3.0 V6 in various tunes but I'll probably be dead by the time Lexus cotton on to the fact that many buyers want a Lexus with plenty of ponies. A twin turbo V6 would make a great basis for a warm GS below a true GS-F with the rumoured 5.0TT from the forthcoming LS.

Here in the UK we now only get the GS in Hybrid format and not even the 450H variety plus we don't get any diesels, let alone the the V6 twin/tri turbo variety offered by the Germans. Not sure how Lexus expect to poach new buyers when they refuse to compete at the same level. About time they started throwing some investment at Lexus!

Back to the Germans when I'm done with my GS430.

In its new issue, C&D refers to the new Lexus front ends as the "angry robot" look. Clumsy looking to me.

This isn't luxury trim. You can tell inside and by the seats. No multiocontour seats and the base matte wood. There are several new wood trims that will come with the luxury trim.

I absolutely hate how slab like the side profile is. If you are going to go crazy on the front at least make the rest of the car matchup. Tail-lights look horribly aftermarket with the clear housings.

I wish Lexus would stop cheaping out and make the triple-L LED headlights standard already, particularly since the GS isn't an entry-luxury car. The "eyes" are the most important design element that can make or break a look. The triple-L LEDs are perhaps the best design element that has come out of Lexus for a while and Lexus should take advantage of them as much as possible. Without them the single round LEDs simply make the car look dull and lifeless.

I was thinking the same thing. Twin turbos add to the weight and I also thought about the block and wondered if Lexus went back to the good ol iron block, which definitely packs in the pounds. Has anyone found any info on the new 2.0L block? I couldn't find any info

Damn, really disappointed they went with the separate DRL on the headlights.
