Next Lexus LS (2018 model)
I was thinking the exact same thing. The body shape first struck me as Panamera. Never cared for the soft, saggy, side profiles and bobtail rumps. Just too feminine and weak for a sedan that's should project strength and power.
Folks, this new LS is doing well on some competition forums. I have been quietly reading some of the comments from here and there. This LS is going to be a big, big hit.

Also that forum seems as equally as mixed as this one...
Yes, mixed, but usually very negative.
Completely agree. It looks too soft on the side, with sagging, droopy lines, and too tall passenger windows. If they want to step ahead and have the look of strength and power, they need to include a prominent shoulder line and straighter fender lines that don't look like heat has melted the body.

Can you guys share more of the other brand forums? It's interesting to see what they have to say. And for anyone who read the gn forum one poster is right the s class is the most overrated interior and this interior kills it.
Does anyone remember the public's/enthusiasts' reaction when mercedes debut this back then?
We're people up in arms or it didn't matter because people were already used to it in offered in other countries, or the badge was all it mattered?

The design of the W140 was not received warmly by the European motoring press at the time of debut. Many thought it was too bulky and brutish. Every other market liked it.

But what about the v6 moving that tank while we're on topic about the V6 (although TT) for this LS?
Oh oops. Didn't realize the purpose of your post. The S320 was very slow, but I don't really think this is a good comparison to the current situation with the LS. The S500 was still available and at that time still the iconic model of the S-class lineup. I don't think anyone here would be complaining if there was an LS400 with the V6 TT, and LS500 with a V8, and an LSX00h hybrid model. Just like how no one complained when the BMW 750i came out and the I6 TT 740i followed. Mercedes will also be bringing an S450 V6 TT here soon.
