I think they are all making an effort to improve visibility by lowering the dash height. The COMMAND **** is till there btw, the touch gesture is just added redundancy a la Audi's MMI.

Screen technology has improved enough to the point where the screen should persevere in sunlight.

Love the design. Very fluid. I hope material quality matches this luxury sport design

Uhh yeah that display looks terrible. It looks even worse than the "iPad sticking out of the dash" BMW designs. This looks like an iPad clipped onto the front of the dash. I guess they'll figure out a way to integrate these screens better over time. Just looks wrong to me, but yes other than that the interior looks great!

overall looks pretty good, i like it. modern and young

i just can't get over the nav screen, i am sure they could have done something better to "integrate" it...

the door panel's design were taken straight from the CLS which is a good thing.

the bad thing is that the floating speedo needle is gone

Those photos are heavily photoshopped. In person it's probably a worst version of the 3IS with even greater cost cutting.

It amazes me how the germans are always so on top of the game with their designs.

year after year, model after model they just keep taking to a different level.

hm, that one has cup holders, automatic one doesnt? I guess they solved the problem with 3IS cup holders taking up space!

I can get passed the tacked on Nav screen (it looks terrible, as it does in other brands), but the lack of gear shifter down low where the arm naturally lays is a deal-breaker for me. I guess I'm getting old and tired, where I just don't want both my hands up on the wheel 24-7 to shift +/- gear. From those I've seen driving next to me, they too don't drive with both hands up on the wheel. So for for those who want comfort AND to be able to manually shift the automatic, we are SOL. First BMW and Mercedes. (Even the new Dodge Ram.) I wonder if Audi will follow and ditch the console shifter. =(

I'm afraid to touch that screen because I fear it will fall off.

Yup, that's the model we won't be getting (stick shift). 2 different center console designs. I personally like the flowing design better, it looks less interrupted and doesn't compromise the location of the multimedia controller. Here's another pic:

Is it that hard to guess that the cupholders in the auto version are concealed by the bin cover?

It's attached by quite the beefy bracket. It has to meet crash standards after all. It's not a touch screen anyways.
