2014 S-Class caught undisguised.
Don't like the steering wheel either also not sure about the head lights still...but tail lamp looks good, at first in camo photos I thought it was going to look like a rolls tail knock off but production photos turns out to be otherwise.
Not sure who approved the steering wheel because I have not heard anyone say they like it.
Avantgarde styling is the one to get, but I noticed neither models get fog lights, which tends to be the direction carmakers are moving towards.
Also looks like they pumped more power out of the 4.6 but weird that it is still using the 7 speed
Love the lighted seat belt buckles

You can't just single out Lexus. BMW 7, Audi A8 and Jag XJ aren't in the same league either solely based off interior - engines, tech aside (which Lexus trails all).

If it's techwise, can someone please elaborate? Like in-car tech or hybrid stuff or what? Curiosity.
If it is everything, then that needs no explaining, just means LS sux lol.
The LS doesn't suck, its a great car, its just old.
Of course it doesnt suck, I love the LS. I was saying IF someone said that the "LS trails everyone in EVERY department", then I wouldnt need to know their reasoning for saying that.
It would be apparent that in their eyes the LS sucks.
My fault, bad wording.

To be fair though, it really does trail the rest of the lull size luxury sedan pack mostly because its still basically the same car that came out in 2007, all its competitors have newer chassis.
Doesn't mean its a bad car, its a great car, but thats a segment that has really improved tremendously, it would be a tough choice between an LS and something like a Jag XJ, Audi A8, 7 Series...S Class is a lot more money...
Honestly, I think for $80k I'd be in an XJ.

Engine: does this really need explaining? while it does have an 8 speed, current 4.6 liter is not going to cut it. It needs 400 hp or more, and the awd needs to have the same power. by utilizing some sort of blower and also a start/stop system. Hybrid power train is going to need at least 30 mpg combined.
Navigation: No 3D, no topography, no one line address voice command entry, funky remote touch
Safety: Only just got adaptive cruise control that will bring the car to a stop. However, pre collision system will only stop the car if the car is traveling under 30mph or so. We need HUD, all around view cameras, a better auto parking technology, more advanced pre-emptive safety measures. How about something as simple as doors that unlock themselves after a crash?
Interior Design: more stitching. lol
Lol regarding the engine thing, i really couldn't care less as long as it is quiet. I drive super slow anyways so 500 horses would just be a waste of gas for me. Idk about the navigation though. No first hand experience. And i actually like how the LS doesn't have crazy diamond stitching on the seats. I like the smoother look, but that is subjective.
About the adaptive cruise control thing, maybe someone can clear this up for me but i always thought the LS was the first to bring this tech to the US with the 430.

Maybe i am misreading something or reading it wrong.
