Default Share Porsche Maintenance Horror Stories?

I am a proud ISF owner.

I still would love to own a Porsche 911 again. I had one in the past and it bled me dry maintenance wise. I would like to get anyone's feedback (good/bad) Are they better as daily drivers now than 20 years ago.

Is there anyone that had a porsche that can share their maintenance experience with us.
What could I expect if I do get one.

Thanks Guys

I think only the Cayenne causes Porsche owners the most headaches.

So, go get that 911 as a daily driver and make your commute a happy one!

How about Panny, is it reliable?

clarified thread title as it's a question, not a statement.

I believe it's mostly the 996 that had recurring IMS/RMS issues (IMS = intermediate shaft, RMS = rear main seal). Development of the 997 included addressing issues found in the 996, and aside from the occasional lemon it is reliable. The 991 is new, but it should also be reliable.

Your best bet will probably be to buy the newest 911 you can afford.

My 911 (I just sold my 2007 997S) was absolutely reliable, no major issues at all and it cost me less to maintain than my 2009 E Class.

Based on forum posts over at our neighbor Porsche boards, the 997 generation overall seemed pretty reliable. I drove a 997.2 C2 for a couple hundred miles last year and thought it made a pretty good daily driver, although to be quite honest it lacked the refinement of the IS F.
