Default 2012 Prius c Review + Pricing

Danny Cooper (Admin for PriusChat and TMS Prius Expert) and his partner-in-crime Russell Frost from What Drives Us take the 2012 Prius c out for a drive.

http://priuschat.com/news/2012-toyot...60-mpg-monster

(60mpg refers to the "MPGeees" section in case you're quick to jump to conclusions. The official EPA numbers are 50mpg combined)

$18,950 to start. $23k for the top Prius c Four.

Hope it's ok to post a review from another forum.

Great prices. If I had to get one, I'd get the Prius c Three. Touchscreen nav, and a buncha other great stuff for under $22k, not bad.

that is certainly a good pic there - of course that appears to be a LOADED one ('four' with optional 16's?).

.. as standard equipment. There's a 16" alloy package that includes a quicker steering ratio.

Yeah that looks to be it. Only the Four has foglights (since both the Three and the Four can be optioned out with a moonroof and a 16" alloy package w/ quicker steering ratio). The Three also has a 15" alloy package (same 15" alloys as on the Four)

Wait.. so this will get roughly the same MPG as the regular prius?

You would think that a smaller prius would get better MPG... (3rd Gen prius gets 51/48)

I feel the Prius V is the best looking Prius.
Would mind getting one for the wife.
However,$36500 for the V with the Advanced Technology Package is a bit much.
I'd go CT200 instead.

$23K is a great price for the loaded Prius C.

This should take away even more sales from the Honda Insight, which, of course, though well-assembled, was more or less a flop to start with.

They priced this thing right. It is well within the budget range for the young 20-somethings who want to make a eco-friendly statement by driving a hybrid.

it gets 50 MPG EPA, but as review says, and every other review I read, everyone has been able to beat 50 MPG.
Danny got 60 MPG easily (he is not hyper miler), which is probably 10 MPG more than with his Prius.

Also, 16" wheels are only $300 upgrade for IV, and $390 for III.
IV gets Entune+Nav, Leather seats, Smart Key...

The small wheels help with MPG....

Great pricing, great MPG. Hopefully a fun coupe comes.

Mike, is your GS your DD or do you have something more fuel efficient? Would you ever consider a hybrid or prius?
