Will this be a replacement to the matrix?

 

it is for Corolla Hatch - Auris... Matrix is like Prius v (slightly larger).

 

I saw some Lexus CT in it....

 

not terrible looking, and I prefer this over the current Matrix. The wheels look kinda cool. So Hon-duh where's that Si Hatch??

 

Definitely looks more aggressive, with more interesting sheetmetal without being overstyled or gaudy. Seems like it will have similar styling cues as the new Yaris.

 

All I can say is, that is a hell of a lot of masking tape. I hope they didn't go to the nearest WalMart

I'll be surprised if we get a true Corolla hatchback in the U.S. The Corolla wagon was dropped back in the 1990s (my late mother owned one), and, since then, Toyota has left that share of its American line-up to the Corolla-sized Matrix, the smaller Yaris 5-door hatchback, and the larger Venza. The Matrix AWD, of course, serves more or less the same function as the former Corolla All-Trac, which was also dropped from the American market years ago.

 

Doesn't look that bad. Seeing some 2012 Yaris characteristics in the front and a few other spots.

This likely won't come to the US, but will give us some hints on what the next US Corolla will look like.

 

I think it's kind of ugly. Maybe it's just all the tape they used on it. It would be cool to get that in the U.S. though.
