Definitely looks more aggressive, with more interesting sheetmetal without being overstyled or gaudy. Seems like it will have similar styling cues as the new Yaris.
I'll be surprised if we get a true Corolla hatchback in the U.S. The Corolla wagon was dropped back in the 1990s (my late mother owned one), and, since then, Toyota has left that share of its American line-up to the Corolla-sized Matrix, the smaller Yaris 5-door hatchback, and the larger Venza. The Matrix AWD, of course, serves more or less the same function as the former Corolla All-Trac, which was also dropped from the American market years ago.
