Default Got pulled over, issue...

Hello all!

So I got pulled over last night. I also had recently moved and changed my address at DMV (Norcal) but did not get my new license with the new address on it yet. This being my first time ever getting pulled over, I was super shaken and said "yes" when the officer asked if I still lived at the same address (old one!). What should I do? Or what could possibly happen? My parents still live at the old address so if they end up sending the ticket there, it's fine.

Thanks for input!

I don't think there should be a problem since your parents still live there but, why would they send you a ticket? if he was going to give you a ticket he gives it to you right there. Did he give you a ticket? did he tell you anything or give you anything?

He said I was going to get something in the mail... I did receive a "ticket" at the time of citation though. This is my first time and I'm so confused.

Did the officer actually see you going through a red-light with a camera, or speeding with a speed-camera? If so, then that might explain you getting a ticket in the mail (with the camera actually doing the work), and him asking about your new address.

Welcome to CL.....I see you are a brand-new poster.

You're in CA...

You will just be getting mail from the court on how much your fine is and information about your contesting or paying the citation. They will just send that to your parents i guess now, so it doesn't really matter. lol

What the cop gave you is the actual ticket. But what you usually get in the mail afterwards is that info from the court that also has your fine/bail amount on it. When you get that, it means the cop has filed the ticket and you have to pay the fine or go to court as described on the mail you will be getting. That doesn't mean your off the hook if you don't get any mail though, its your job to check with the court if you don't get anything in the next week or so!

...and welcome to CL

You already got your ticket, and just call the court and pay on time. You don't have to wait for anything in the mail.

Welcome to CL.

Welcome to CL.
In CA, it takes a couple of week for the ticket to get processed. If you call the court too soon, they won't have any information. A letter should arrive within 3 weeks and it will have instructions on how to pay, including the option for driving school (provided this was OP's 1st ticket in past 12 or 18 months ) If offered, I highly recommend op take the driving school option to keep record clean and prevent insurance rate increase.
