Remote Touch Navigation is terrible and backwards technology IMO
I absolutely love remote touch.
And I absolutely do not like any of these new Ipad-in-your-face cars that have some sort of tablet stuck on the dashboard in some ridiculous way so that some of the drivers are able to reach them with their fingers. I am 189 cm, and I prefer to drive with my feet stretched out, and thus I am not able to reach any screen while driving. That little joystick on my 2014 GS is perfect for the job since it has tactile feedback (which is adjustable) The only thing it is not suitable for is to input street addresses while driving. Since I do not do that, I don't reallyy care.

What about the older Lexus touchscreens before they went remote touch? Did you like them? a 2007 Lexus LS for example I am not so sure I am a fan of the tablet screens in how they pop up.
I 100% agree. The mouse type interface in my IS is far easier to use than the touchpads I've experienced in other Lexus loaners. I will say, the new ES seemed a bit more precise with its RTI, but it could be just me getting used to the system. Either way, having a physical mouse to hold onto makes me feel a little more accurate with my movements.
i don't have any issue operating the screen in my model 3.
moreover, my focus is the "interface". older generations of touch screens on lexus or other cars were pretty weak and much harder to use. but the newer generations like the one in my model 3 or the gle is much smoother and more sensitive so it becomes very easy to control.

Using touchscreens while driving is a UI issue. If the UI is elegant, using a touchscreen wont be an issue. Tesla engineers were pilfered from Apple and Google and it shows. They've gotten the UI perfect for touchscreen use while driving.
My issue is with hitting the buttons properly in a moving car. I just prefer a ****/controller setup.
