Here it is spied in China ahead of schedule. Technically, this is the Nissan Tiida (as it is called elsewhere) but the current generation Tiida is identical to the US spec Versa so it's assumed that our Versa will look the same for 2012.

Not too bad, but not as nice as some other 2012 offerings we've seen previewed. The back needs help though.

Interestingly, it looks reminiscent to the last gen Lexus RX in the front.

Just like the small car segment (focus, corolla, elantra, jetta, civic, cruze, mazda3, sentra), I expect the subcompact sales to start increasing again just before summer gas prices increase. The versa was def in need of some tlc. This looks pretty good. A lot of automakers are making these cars much more competitive which is good. Along with this new versa, look for the Kia rio, Hyundai accent, and chevy aveo to be redone as well. The fiesta, fit and Mazda2 were all recently introduced or refreshed. Boy so many to choose from.

Agreed. The rear, especially the C/D pillars and the bulge-wide rear fenders, makes it look like some Euro-market Fiat and Renault models.

 

I have no problem with that. Europe has some of the best looking small cars in the world.

 

Anything is better than the current one. This looks pretty damn good!

 

Looks like cross between Kia and Lexus, with Chinese doing back end :-)
