Looks like an IS to me. Surely an improvement from the last model.

Yeah, not bad but not great. Anything's an improvement on the outgoing model though.
The interior looks really nice.

Yeah like a refined Leaf. I think it looks great.

Pretty good. Its like a Leaf with that wavy Mazda/Elantra-ish design language.

looks much better than the one it replaces....{my wife just rented us one, I had to drive from San Antonio to Del Rio and back with roll-up windows and NO cruise control}

Yes, a Leafy rental car. Sad they even bother offering a car in US market with roll-up windows and no cruise control.

Some people want the option to get a stripped car for $10K. Why not offer it?
Hell, the base Versa also doesn't come with a radio! That's much worse than no power windows or cruise.

That's why it is $9,999

I would daily-drive that as a cheap commuter appliance.

No, that's why it's $9,999 with a higher profit. It could still be $9,999 (with a profit of $27 less for the power windows and cruise control not included).
Or in other words, the MSRP would be exactly the same.

Soul maybe, but in reality it reminds me of my last Nissan rental car in Baja.
