The Large Super Saloons
BMW has the Alpina B7 [Starting @ $122K, 4.4L V-8 Engine, 500hp/516lb-ft, 0-60 in 4.5 Seconds]
Benz has the S63 AMG [Starting @ $138K, 5.5L V-8 Engine, 536hp/590lb-ft, 0-60 in 4.4 Seconds]
Audi doesn't have one, and neither does Lexus.
But do you think that Lexus will ever make an LSF? I know that the LS has F-Sport parts, but what about a Dedicated LSF? I guess we first have to see how the GSF does, before there is an LSF.
I think it will be amazing to see a Lexus LSF. The LS has a 4.6L V-8 Engine with 380hp, accelerating from 0-60 in 5.4 Seconds, with a Base Price of $66K.
I would love to an LSF with a 4.6-5.0L V-8 Engine with over 500hp, going from 0-60 in 4.4 Seconds. Base Price of $96K? ($30K Over the Base LS?). But then, what if that ruins the sales of the LS600hL?
Any thoughts?

The likely hood of of a high performance LS though is pretty low I think though. Like you said, a GS-F needs to come out first. Regardless if it came out, I think it would still be "soft" compared to BMW and MBZ just because we'll it's Lexus. Their focus tends to be more reliability meets refinement meets ease of use and tech galore.
Imo I think a 5.0L V8 may be in the cards for the next LS (2013?). Not sure it'll be hitting that 500hp mark, but surely the 400hp mark since that seems to be the new benchmark for luxo barges such as BMW and MBZ tt V8 powerplants in the 7 and S respectivley, save for the A8 which will use the 370hp 4.2L V8 and the XJ 5.0L with 375hp for the time being.

the ls doesn't have fsport support now, it has a sport version (i consider that different)
it would be cool to have lsf, but not before they have gsf and scf. they have a lot of other segment to secure before touching this very tiny part
lsf won't ruin the sales of 600hl, they are in different direction imho, one sport, one luxury. just look at s63 vs s600

Don't forget the Jaguar XJL Supersport. [Starting @ $113K, 5.0L V-8 Engine, 510hp/461lb-ft, 0-60 in 4.7 Seconds.]
It's the widest, longest, shortest (all by fractions on an inch); and lightest one compared to the Bimmer and Benz.
I would choose Brit over German for a lot of different car categories...

To be fair the S8 did exist (maybe another generation to come as well since the new A8 was just released) but it does lack in power compared to the S63/65.
The Alpina is technically not BMW, it's along the same lines as RUF. They are a car manufacturer built upon other manufacturer's designs. Alpina is not owned by BMW but have a partnership.

very true on alpina too, they are nothing but aftermarket company, i never consider them as bmw. nothing like bmw m or mb amg. to me it's kind of like renntech, hamann, dinan, etc...

Actually the LS has gotten support from Tom's since day one. It just isn't officially sanctioned like Alpina is by BMW. Like Alpina you need some serious coin to get a fully done LS.

I agree. I don't like Audi though, I think they're **** cars. Over priced and doesn't have as much power as its competitors, like you mentioned with the s4 and s6 comparison. Plus, the interior looks bad, but thats just me.

I do love some of the Audi styling and their interiors are gorgeous.
But yes the S8 doesn't quite stack up the S63/65 (it's probably a lot less expensive too).

If you want big price tags, big HP and 2wd, then it's hard to beat MB. If you live where it's wet or cold, the AMGs could be a bad choice.
All these cars are so heavy, I cringe when I hear performance sedan.
