2011 Toyota Avalon
Its build quality, sense of solidness, and ride comfort, IMO, were all superior to the 2 and 3Gen models that followed it. We'll see, of course, what the new one will be like.Of course, the New Beetle is a classic, retro-look vehicle that is not SUPPOSED to change every few years, but, if that is the case, they could have changed it, in the meantime, to look even MORE like the original.
The same, hopefully, could be done with the Avalon, although (again IMO), eventually, Toyota is going to have to toss the Avalon's cheesy silver plastic and too-fake-looking woodtone for a real interior worthy of a flagship.

Remember, when Toyota introduced the 2005 Avalon, it introduced Toyota to such things as dual VVTi, xenon lamps, heated/cooling seats, and I believe dual HVAC up front. This redesign or refresh is terrible.
I missed the part about complaining about a vehicle that sells in small numbers, most here are not interested in and probably haven't even driven ANY Avalon.

I think it might be a SMART move by Toyota as the competiton in this segment has heated up directly or indirectly. I think they will evaluate what the Avalon needs to stay a winner.
) :lol:With that said, I'd rather have this vehicle instead
