BTW my friend more than qualifies age-wise for the car, if you know what I mean.

I agree with I8ABMR that the interior wood could be better.

So I guess your friend is the intended target for the Avalon.

I wish if there were no wood at all inside. It would be even more appealing to us youngsters. Didn't like the partly wooden steering wheel too, well who am i to complain. I'm in minority here anyways

Yes, my friend is in that targeted age group. So am I.

Surprisingly I couldn't get comfortable in the front seats (both driver and passenger). I've heard/read that is one of the strong points of the interior.

Hmm I really didn't feel uneasy in the driver seat while driving the car. I was rather enjoyin the straight line power, smooth refined ride and that awesome JBL system and wait also that cooled ac seats( Thats nice )

I've heard some people on the heavier side felt slightly uncomfortable because of the fan blowers under the seats. Other than that I really haven't heard any other complaints about it.

For a large car the Avalon gets pretty good gas mileage (20/29) same as the Camry V6 and a little better than the ES350 (19/27).
