Default What problems can I get from buying a used car?

I am looking at buying a 1993 SC400 and it has 182000 km on it. It doesn't say in the ad if there is any problems or any work that has been or needs to be done on the car. I guess I have to contact the seller.

If there is no problems with the car, what can go wrong at over 182000 km a car like this?

Also if I found used ML parts would it fit in this car or best bet is put in a new system?

Almost anything can go wrong with a car that old.

Why would you want a 17 year old car if reliability is even a minor factor in the equation? At that point it should be less 'seller' and more 'donor'

Only buy used cars if you want to work on them yourself or you are getting good equity in the car.

anything can go as she ages. It just depends on how well maintained the car was ad how it was driven, but the bottom line every car will age and every car will break. The odds go up when the car is used and with multiple owners. In the end most people don't get rid a good car.

Ask to see if he has kept any service records. If it is a car you really want, bring a mechanic along and have him check everything. It may cost money up front but at least you know what you will be getting into.

Yeah that is an old car with a lot of miles and my family still have a 92 SC and when things go, its expensive to fix. A fun project car but just be ready for things to break.
