Default 2011 Hyundai Sonata Official Thread (Pricing announced)

Other than the styling cues "borrowed" obviously from the Solara and ES, it is looking very, very impressive (on paper at least). The new 2.5L I-4 engine coupled with 6AT churns out amazing numbers like 200hp and 23/35mpg, surely enough to beat the competition spec-wise by a land slide.

Front end still looks squashed to me. Overall it looks like a decent enough car.

I'm getting really tired of seeing other car accents in Hyundais. I mean sure ok companies copy cues off eachother all the time but at least they look cohesive. This LOOKS like a frankenstein of other cars put together.

Actually I am not much of a fan of the exterior design, though the car as a whole seems great.

Solara front end, Accord profile, and Infiniti interior.

Yup, Dr. Hyundai has built another monster...

The interior is nice. It does scream solara/cls. I'd hit it.

Well, yes, it looks awesome. But it's a blatant CLS copy with a G37 interior (minus the three-spoke sport steering wheel). It seems really nice to me but imho Hyundai really needs to innovate in the design department. The new Sonata is nice and all but I'm getting really tired of seeing blatant copies of other marques.

Hyundai needs to find north on where it wants to go with its design. Right now, it's all over the place. There is nothing proper to Hyundai - and I mean that there's absolutely nothing that makes you know, unconditionally, that it's a Hyundai product. The untrained eye could think this was a Mercedes. I'll have to wait and see it in person before I can render further judgment.

I strongly dislike Huindais, but I welcome the trend that they have just set with the car. Finally someone had the ***** to make the 4 cylinder vanilla version of a family sedan with 200 horses. Watch CamCordTima try to one up this Sonata, and each other, and soon enough we'll have 4 cylinder family sedans with well over 200hp and 6 cylinders with well over 300.

23 and 35 on a 200hp engine is pretty impressive for a car this size....I dont think the world needs more 300hp v6 family sedans.....anyhow

What the heck is this going to cost anyways ? I know I can purchase a camty LE auto for 18k all day long plus TTL....i would not pay more for this even with better mpg / hp. It is still a hyundai
