idiotic article. almost all car prices go up naturally. vette is still the value king. and those kids will save money to buy camaro, not vette. no kids back in the days save money for vette.
Put me in the hate NASCAR category. Oval after oval after oval.............
i just read a great article by p.j.o'rourke on nascar... a former hater / or turn his nose up at it, he came to really like it after going to a race. there's WAY more to it that just round and round...
I have always liked the C6 vettes, I think they look sexy and gorgeous, & I don't care what the stereotypes about this car may be ...
It took a while for the C6 to grow on me as I preferred the C5's looks. After driving both several times and finding a great deal on a C6 (Z51 option) my choice was made.
About the stereotypes, yeah, they exist. But who cares? ha ha
I've gone to quite a few Vette gatherings and the guys do tend to be older and predominantly white but there are always exceptions to the rule and good people to be found anywhere. When I go to Lexus gatherings it seems I don't really fit the stereotype there either other than enjoying the hell out of cars with cool people and that's what matters.
I have recently read an article on the Gransport vette and I have to say I am happy that they are making it possible for consumers to have the Z06 look at only 6k over base price. Nice. 430 hp is more than enough for most vette drivers.

You can walk away at $61K with 435 HP, 428lb/torque, 3LT package w/ leather, chrome wheels, Z06 brakes, fenders and dry sump... oh yeah, AND the targa top... if I didn't live in cold/long winter WI, there would be no dilemma on what to drive
There is no question the Corvette is still a bargain when compare to other sports car in its class. The question is can the Corvette survive the market's purging of 2 seaters. Of course a 4 seater Corvette is out of the question
I'm sure there are still plenty of people who like the corvette but it needs a redesign. The exterior has been more or less the same since 1997. Also, a new interior would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, is GM going to pay us back for the tax money they took from us?

I am with you on that one. I cant stand NASCAR. I think its a shame the way it really monopolizes the SPEED channel. I know there is a talent involved at being a great NASCAR driver, but I know it requires more talent to maintain high speeds as well as braking, shifting, and mastering the perfect corner exit

If you actually drove a NASCAR perhaps you'd have a different perception of how difficult it is to drive one of these things.
