Maybe the owner relocated from Detroit.

If he/she DID relocate from Detroit, it was, more likely, an attempt at disguising it. People in Michigan have a reputation for vandalizing Hondas and Toyotas, even notwithstanding the fact that they are produced right here in America (some of them nearby in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky). In Michgan, the best way to keep your car in one piece is to have a domestic-nameplate symbol on it, no matter where it is made.

And, if you think THAT's bad, you should see what can happen to a Toyota/Honda whose owner actually WORKS in a Ford or Chevy plant, with UAW employees.

Sadly the more practical solution is to avoid Detroit.
