Now i may be being a BIT optimistic, but i have 10 grand of my own money to spend on my first car and i was just wondering, would be getting a clk be a bad idea. I have the 560, but i am afraid to drive something like that and i want to keep the miles down, the es300 could possibly be my car but i do not know yet. Looking for cars close to me i found quite a few clk's but this one grabbed my attention http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...00&cardist=389 what do you guys think? And for those of you who think i am spoiled, well im the one paying for it
I from personal experience do not touch a Mercedes over 100k miles or if its not under warranty. Expect to end up paying half of what you have for future repairs. The thing is these cars aren't aftermarket friendly so if the blower for the A/C goes out good luck because Autozone isn't going to have it.
^^^ I agree, it wasn't the badge that brought me to it, it was the looks. I always saw the convertables and it wasn't exactly great but the coupe is a looker.
Steer clear. If you want a German ride and you have $10K, look into a newer VW or something. You could pick up a Golf GTI VR6 for those same prices, with lots less miles.
Either way, if you want "das auto" (or any German car), get ready to pay up. Sure you could get a Civic or Corolla, but that's just so boring. You've gotta pay to play with that tuetonic engineering. Rewarding, not cheap.
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...00&cardist=697 like this one 1SICK? haha if only and i love vw but there is just something bout mercedes and bmw that gets me, i mean they can't be that unreliable can they? my families experience with german cars has been pretty good, same with our friends besides for 2 ml"s and one a4
well any car with 100+ miles is going to possibly have problems, but owning a $50K luxury car is going to be costly when something goes wrong. Honestly why not look into an 03+ Accord? You can probably find one for 10-12K in today's market...Nice cars, espcially with the 3.0 VTEC V6. I picked up an 04 Black I4 MT coupe w/ DVD Voice sat nav and black leather a few months ago for $14K, 44K, so there are deals out there.
yea who knows maybe ill stay with the es or keep shopping around. Older 3 series keep popping up nd same with 4 runner's or land rover discoveries. I know i got expensive tastes but hey, it happens haha. There was also an older model 635 csi stick near my house that i plan to check out
i wish it was a 330 haha, it is a 2000 blk on blk 323ci with the sport package with an automatic, i can drive stick, but an auto is nice to have, I am just that lazy hha
Very cool car, the CLK 430, that I have looked into, but low aftermarket, and what is out there is very expensive, and maintence is very expensive, a spark plug change, requires 16 spark plugs, because thier are two plugs per cylinder. I know in the past you mentioned the porsche 944, and for your budget you can get a very good one and I think that is what you should look for and keep the es around for backup.
^^ You must know me pretty well cause i have looked at 16 different 944's over the past year for my first car and i would use the es for "that" day or "those" days when something goes wrong. The main reason i sort of dropped the idea because where i live it snows and well the car is older then me hah
