I believe they share the same paint. The titanium silver metallic on my Rav4 must be shared with Lexus considering the touch up paint bottle has Toyota/Lexus written on it. 202 black paint is used on many Toyota/Lexus models as well... I must say that the metallic silver paint on my Rav4 still looks show room new after all these years.. The GS paint has always looked good since it sleeps in the garage most of the time
The one color that I'm not happy is white on toyotas.
Seems like after a short year, the clear coat is no longer there and which feels like a flat paint color
We had a 91 burgundy corolla that lasted better than our 95 white corolla
NIght and day difference. Period. Lexus paint is among the best in the business. Toyota paint is on par/better than those in its class (ford/Honda/etc).
The Lexus paint process is MUCH MUCH more intense than the Toyota process.
In terms of Paint Quality, both Lexus and MB paint's are shiny, and great color tone.
MB paint is much harder thus resists paint chips.
Lexus uses a much softer paint, so tends to chip more.
My 2002 LS430 had so many paint chips after nearly 1 year of ownership.
MY BMW looked nearly new from the front bumper and hood for nearly 3 years after purchase.
my 2004 blue sienna has horrible paint. it does not stand up to rubbing. its much like the 2002 black paint on my IS300.
i agree with above, itsl ike the clear coat disapears. and then the paint dulls in color. only the metallic paints stand up well.

Clear coats don't just rub off or disappear, they fail, an when they fail, they crack, peel, or oxidize and it's obvious. More than likely, your cars are single stage paint (single paint coat with no clear coat). Single stage paint oxidizes very rapidly and gives a slight chalky appearance.
Someone put glue all over my drivers side so last night I spent all night rubbing it off. One of my friends said to use goo gone but now it took off some of my paint. What should I do should I get the fender repainted or get touch up paint? It's a brand new IS250 and its black I want to keep it looking nice.
basic paint or what not might be the same, but the amount of work put on Lexus and Toyota has to be different
like the paint on my GS is 3 stages and on the LS is much more and are all wet sanded twice by hand for every single vehicle, something unheard of in production vehicles

No way. I totally disagree. My e93, brand new hadthe worst orange peel ever. I noticed it on the lot too, but I wanted it too badly to care. It looked like this.

There is a difference but it is not night and day. I think the difference is noticed when one compares a US made Toyota and a Japan made Toyota/Lexus. Rav4, Prius, 4runner and Highlander are all comparible with Lexus models made in Japan.
just watch any production video of how a lexus is made compared to toyota
you will never say they are the same car again
and yes, BMW paint is just as soft, it's the new EPA/DOT standards, paint are all now water based, which makes it much softer, we've had 6 bmw, we know
