I actually like it.

The near vertical front end gives it a familial face that coincides with the GT-R...

Guess my pics got removed when my thread was moved/merged lol.

(yes I'm not talking to myself). Anyway, anyone noticed the orange piping in the black interior shot?

The Maxima is suppose to have a 0-60 time of 6.2 and from reading the entire Nissan press release they built this car with the GT-R in mind, everything was done to make it a drivers car, even the CVT has 4 setting, 1 being a DS sport mode, the CVT seems to be all new for this car, I guess it's new technology like the SMG/DSG transmissions.

Nissan also said they wanted the Maxima to be the best handling and performing FWD, Front engine car in the world, eventually the magazines will let us know.

Yes, we will know. For now I don't buy the marketing hype.

Can someone post up a side by side rear shot of the new Maxima and Yaris (silver). I can't seem to get both pics posted together.
I'll do the honors!

Ok before anyone challenges me, I'm not dishing Nissan at all - I save that for Hyundai.

Here is the rear of both cars as requested.

Toyota Yaris Sedan

Nissan Maxima

Yeah, yeah, yeah. But if you're trying to say those cars look alike something's wrong with ya.

lmao no. It was spur of the moment when I first took a glimpse of the car. If you compare the rear side by side then you will notice that I was WAY off.

But I knew they werent the same size vehicle

The rear does resemble the camry/yaris but much better

I'm liking this new maxima. Got to give it time to get used to the front end.
Let's hope the crash test rating is better than the previous model.

For now I'm waiting for the reviews, in 1 way Nissan's press release sounds great but in another way they themselves wrote it,

I am actually impressed. I have not liked the Max since 1997 and since then, I would not consider them, but this looks like a nice car. I like it better than the current Toyota Avalon, Lexus ES and the Infiniti G35.

Would you buy one over a G35? If so, that's bad news for Infiniti.

The guys on VWVortex posted the exact same thing. I can see it. DOesn't bug me though. I much rather the Yaris rear than the GSish one

Front end grill I am truly getting, very GT-ish inspired. I really like this car thus far.

Car looks good in some of the profile shots, but still not impressed.

If Nissan wants to resurrect the 4DSC moniker, they need to make the car smaller and lighter.

That said, I still like the 3rd and 4th gen Maximas.

The V6 diesel will be interesting, but I don't know if North American consumers will jump on diesels.
