Love the rear LED tail lights shown on that white one.
Yeah the LED lights in the rear look fantastic!!!

The seam is near the projector low beams.

NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Nissan announced pricing today for the 2009 Nissan Maxima in two new trim levels. The base-level Maxima 3.5S starts at $29,950 and the Maxima 3.5SV model starts at $32,650. Both prices include a $660 delivery charge.

"The 2009 Maxima has been increased by about 1 percent versus the 2008 model, but the amount of content and all-around package has significantly been increased in the all-new model," said Tim Gallagher, senior manger for corporate communications at Nissan North America. "The base 2009 Maxima 3.5 S offers more standard equipment than its predecessor, coming in at $400 less than a comparably equipped 2008 3.5 SE."

On sale at dealerships now, the seventh-generation Maxima comes standard with a 290-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC V6 mated to a continuously variable transmission. The 2008 Maxima was rated at 255 hp. Fuel economy has also been bumped slightly from 19 mpg city/25 mpg highway to 19/26 mpg.

Several new option packages are available for the 3.5SV, including the Sport Package ($2,300) with sport-tuned suspension, 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, premium leather-appointed seats and paddle shifters; and the Premium Package ($3,450) with a dual panel moonroof, 7-inch color monitor with rearview monitor, and Eucalyptus wood-tone trim.

The 2009 Nissan Maxima goes on sale today.

That is one good looking car for sure. I have always liked Maximas and this one is sure to be another winner for Nissan.

I've lost interest as soon as I saw the price. If I was a Nissan fan, the G35 gets my money. Hell you can lease a G35 so low it doesn't make any sense!! You cannot beat the price.

That being said, I do like this new Maxima and good job to Nissan.

Coming home from running some errands tonight I noticed a Nissan dealer had an '09 Maxima out in front so I stopped for a closer look. It was a black SV that stickered at $36.1K with the technology package. Very nice! Good presence. The interior was as nice as advertised.

I'm guessing they'll have a winner on their hands, unless the slow economy and slowing auto sales take a toll on the launch

^^ I don't see people buying 37k Maximas. I do see people leasing $299 a month Maximas in about 2 months....
It is a very nice car.

Hey genius, the point was the FWD cars suck. I don't understand why these companies constantly increase the HP figures on FWD cars, most are torque steer monsters already.

Yeah, the Max prices are getting up into G35 territory. Maybe Nissan will offer rebates and the dealers will discount them more than the G.

Another "me too" car. Headlights from all the newer cars: Gtr/s2000/Scion.

Side profile: Just like a lexus is/gs flavor.

Not much going on in the creativity department, however, most people act/think alike anyways....for them, this car is perfect. Nissan wants to play it safe I guess....

While this car does top out surprising high I don't think the full-up SV models will be the bread and butter. 90% of buyers will be going for the S models and optioning them to around 33K which is about the price of a 2008 Maxima but with better content.
