New Mods to the 'vic... Caliper Paint...
Going with metallic blue. the car is galaxy gray, but if it doesnt look right, i have a can of black rustoleum high heat, it goes over anything . i decided on Subaru World Rally Blue Metallic. I will do a How-To if anyone is interested. It really isnt that hard to do.

I think the black you mentioned will look much better than the bright blue. Just my preference though, if you like the blue go for it - looks like you did a nice job

i think i'd loose the "H" but i'm partial to complete removal of decals
i like the blue ... i've been thinking of painting my breaks for a while ... but it always seems like a LOT of work

its really not, i did all 4 in a span of 2 hrs. dont worry if you get a little overspray on the rotors (unless they are expensive aftermarket), it will burn off fter a day or so.

Well, there are 3 ways you can do it.
You can take the caliper completely off and apart, this is the correct way to do it. This takes ALOT of time and you will have to bleed the brakes and top off the fluid afterwards.
#2 is to take the caliper off the rotor and remove the pads...but if you are gonna do this you might as well change pads while in there.
#3 (the way i did it), just mask and paint. dont worry about a little overspray, as it will burn off or be covered anyway. make sure if you are using a multi stage paint system (primer, base, top and clear) like i did, that its warm enough and your calipers are clean. I primed with flat black rustoleum (i had rust on mine) then i basecoated a couple days later with WR Blue Base coat, then went with WR Blue Topcoat, then the clear, the last 3 i did within 20 mins of each other, taking care not to let the paint dry all the way for maximum adhesion of the paint.

i had them, but they dont fit under the new car, i need to get some smaller ones. it matters not...i didnt have to get under the vehicle. but i did put 2 jacks under there. i have 2 of those, and they were both down there.

Well, the reason I thought of it is because I have a friend in PA that did just that. Lights, cage, gun rack, etc. He even has a special D.A.R.E. license plate that PA produced in all black for a short period of time. But now he can't drive the car anymore.
