Default Toyota Yaris Facelift Spied

Toyota Yaris Facelift Spied

First pictures

Toyota engineers have been quietly at work on a minor facelift for their Yaris small car. Today we caught the new Toyota Yaris on the road for the first time, but maybe more interestingly also almost undisguised. The current Toyota Yaris has been on European roads since late 2005, so the refresh comes in a timely fashion.

The changes are so minor that no masking seemed a more efficient way to not attract attention to the car, but our eagle-eyed carparazzi catch everything. The front grille is updated with newly shaped air-intakes and a smaller grille than the current version. The rear features newly laid out taillights, while the overall shape remains the same.

We are also expecting some minor alterations to the engines on offer, mainly to improve fuel efficiency.

Looks the same. Isn't it a little early for a facelift? That car just came out.

Why even bother with such a minor facelift? They should concentrate on making the car less-stupid. Compared with the other sub-compacts it looks pretty fugly. The 4 door non-hatch isn't bad though.

But the car is extremely functional, especially in the European market.

I think it does the job well: provide safe and efficient and inexpensive transportation for the masses.

However, I do have to admit that the coupe is a bit funky and not-so-serious.

It's been out since 2006 here so the facelifted model will come as a 2009 model.

I can only seen the headlights will seem to droop down a bit more towards the front bumper compared to the current one. Can't see anything else that's different.

Reminds me of a mouse without its tail. But the facelift was completely worthless.
