nice stuff jeff!!! thanks for the inside info. stuff that caught my eyes:

LS600HL (MY08) – Dealer Arrival – June 07

as you mentioned the ls600hl is delayed. i wonder the reason why, hopefully it's for the better. too bad though, i thought if they could roll the car out in spring it would be sweet

GS460 (MY08) – Dealer Arrival – Late Sept 07

seems like this is delayed as well, initially i heard early 07. that means the gs450h will have to run the high end GS course for longer. i really wonder if they are having a lot of issues with the new v8 in the car? it just looks weird to me that they decided to "abandon" the v8 in the car for such a long time

GX470 (MY08) – Dealer Arrival – Late Sept 07

very interesting, so the GX will stay with the old (current) engine for a bit longer huh? i thought they would just upgrade the engine at the same time as the LX. but maybe they want to do this to help boost the sales of the LX

LX570 (MY08) – Dealer Arrival – Late Dec 07

finally the LX is getting something new.... better be a good total redesign. the current one is sooo outdated (doesn't like it at all when sitting in it) and a bigger more powerful engine is obviously needed

henry,

i heard on the ls600hl they were tweaking the performance and fuel numbers a little bit

the lx looks good, i have seen several pics and it is still true to the current design, but with l-finesse, etc. i did a preview in the LX forum sticky when i returned from the production meeting a few weeks ago, go take a look at the info there - good stuff.

thanks for your feedback!

Thanks for the info jjbodean

Great heads-up for the 600hL and the LX, finally something for the LX

I don't expect much changes for the GX since it's still current to lexus.
Can we get the rear window to roll down at least???????????????????

Any new speculation you might hear for the IS500?

Still nothing on an IS coupe?

In the November 6 Automotive News, there was an article on the possible return of the L-Tuned brand. Jim Lentz, COO of Toyota USA, said L-Tuned may return because "With a sportier redesign of the IS 250 and IS 350 sedan - and with coupe and convertible variants likely - the situation is different today than a few years ago."

Hold on a sec... they're releasing the 2008 model year RX350/400h in FEBRUARY of 2007!???

I know sometimes that happens when an all new model comes out and they don't want to wait until later in the year to release a product that's ready to come out, and they don't want to give it the same model year as the old style car because then people would get confused and be less likely to notice the new release.

However the schedule posted says "minor changes" which makes me think the all new model won't be coming out until the 2009 model year (as I think we've expected).

So a mostly unchanged model year 2008 vehicle is coming out almost a full year before its model year matches the real year???
This is starting to get ridiculous!

Either that, or the "Feb 2007" was a typo or the "minor changes" was a typo.

Any idea their reasoning for bringing out a mostly unchanged 2008 model about 7-8 months earlier than normal?

I wonder if the 2016 model year RX will be released in April of 2013. lol

my guess (only a guess) is that they want to get a full calendar year of sales out of the 2008 model year since the 2009 will be coming out about a year from then

Why does it say the ES350 gets a minor change for 08 thats way too early. And the GS and IS minor change for 2008 is too early as well. Where did you get this info.

It's extremely rare for a car to change model years without changing anything at all. Even if it's something as minor as an available paint color or option packaging, or even something very few would ever notice like a few internal mechanical/electrical components being revised due to reliability issues.

The first year of the new ES hasn't exactly been the most impressive in terms of reliability (relative to the average lexus new vehicle launch, anyway)... so I'm sure they have quite a few minor changes to make, even if none of them are things you'd find listed on the specifications or features list on lexus.com or even here on this board.

So my guess is that there are always minor changes if not moderate changes or major changes (complete redesign)
