I've been assuming they'd shoot for a nice even 400hp... shouldn't take too much effort to get an extra 20 ponies out of the LS specs, and 400hp just sounds much more impressive when you're marketing to the average person, than does 380hp.

Heck 400hp is what the new M3 will be putting out and it's what the current gen non-Z06 Corvette currently puts out (though by the time the GS460 is out the Vette should have moved to the 450hp LS3... still impressively close)

Honestly how hard is it just to add an extra 1000cc in a GX470 ... so Lexus want to wait what an extra 2-3 years before they change the engine on the GX?

More than likely will be going with the LX.

Would be nice to see a GS compete with a BMW M5 and Mercedes Benz E-Class (AMG)

Also no news on the SC ... hopefully they will have a new one just below the LF-A (wishful thinking) ... or I might just have to find a use SC soon

Any SPORT package in the works for the GS?

Lexus is so smart having a sport sedan without a V8 for this long. Whats next an LS without leather?

Cool, thx for the info...

Hopefully SmartAccess will expand across the lineup? I'm hoping the chrome door handles for the RX also means SmartAccess buttons and capability...

Of course these are the existing models that we know about. I've been really hoping for some tidbits on the IS coupe, as suggested by the Automotive News posting. Would it make sense to bring out the IS-F before the coupe/convertible? I wonder.

I'm hoping also for a new SC... any word on that?

I wonder whether they will even make a regular non-convertible 2-door coupe for the 2IS . . .

no word on a "gs-f", although the dealers asked about it at the meeting. i think they are going to feel out how well the is-f does before going ahead with a gs version.

is convertible has been delayed to a possible 2010 model released late 2009 - speculation at this point. no info on a coupe right now.

i would guess smart-access will be on the next gen rx, not the 2008 model, i would bet something like that they would have mentioned to us before chrome door handles

Thanks for the info jjbobean.

How good looking LX was? I can't wait to see it. Even tho the current gen LX is a bit outdated, I still think that's the best looking SUV on the road today.

Any word about new generation GX?

I appreciate the info. I just don't understand Lexus. Why the heck would they bring out an IS convertible just as the 3rd-gen will be coming out? If the IS has a five-year cycle, that means the redesigned IS would appear as a 2011. The convertible, based on the old design, will only be one-year old when the new IS appears.

As for a coupe, doesn't Lexus see two of their biggest competitors, the 3 Series and G35, both offering coupes? Where is the IS coupe? All this talk before the second-gen IS came out about how there was going to be a coupe and convertible to better compete with the 3 Series range and yet still nothing. I think Lexus is losing a lot of sales to competitors who have coupes.

Yeah I'm guessing the only Lexus model that will have seen smart-access added mid-model life is the LS430. Most of the other cars are in classes where most of the competition doesn't have it yet anyway, and it would add a lot of extra cost to redesign and support that change when they could just build it into ground up redesigns that they're probably almost already done with by now.

Well, that means they might as well wait until the 4 th generation GS to introduce a GS-F

I think the **** option (active stabiliser) with the GS430/450h/460 will be their "sport version" for now
