Angry Problem with bad gas!

Guys,

My friend got some gas in her 02 MB C240 on Friday night. She had an empty tank when she went in and filled up the car. Well, she drove home just fine and then a little later that night went to drive the car. It started bogging down pretty bad and she got a CEL. I pulled the codes and it was showing Random Misfires. Well, she ended up having to get it towed to MB because it wouldn't run and kept stalling. They have said that it was bad gas that has caused this.

Phillips 66 are refusing to pay for this - which is a $1300 fix from MB.

We have spoken to the District Manager and Corporate and they have said that we need to contact Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

What to do>>???

Ask on an MB forum........? MBWorld.org has one of the most active W203 forums.

Yeah - she put 91 which is the highest octane we have here in Tulsa.

I checked MBWorld but didn't find anything.

She had called the local TV Station who have a segment called "Channel 2 works for you."

They are interviewing her on TV on Wednesday

Bad gas can occur and I have had my share of issues south of the border with the awful gas here (though it will get super better on the premium side in less than 2 months due to new national rules). Screwed up ignition coils and cats can fall victim to bad gas.

Ideally, you could take a sample of the gas via a hose, but still being a lawyer I see a ton of issues of proof (and I sympathize with you 100%) that are quite complicated.

Not a very active W203 site. I'm active on both mbworld and benzworld as I'm an MB owner as well. MBWorld is much better for the C-Class. Sure you'll get some spoiled brats, but otherwise it's a good forum. And the tech forum is nice too.
