So if I am reading the above post correctly, if I have a 350 /w Nav/ML, i can ask the lexus dealer to install a ES sirius kit in the IS and it SHOULD work fine?

 

Don't know. I did this on my own. Ordered the parts from Sewell, but I have no idea if it will work. Probably won't!

 

I've been reading through this thread trying to figure out what happened to the guy that got the Lexus Sirius unit while he was on vacation but couldn't install it until the weekend... Could he please post the status, did it install, is it the "real IS250 unit, not an ES330 unit, etc ? Thanks

 

Ok Hi guys I'm back !!! I am awaiting to install the unit this weekend and I will give you the rundown. I know The dealer has pulled Sirius as an option right now due to a couple of communication problems. My unit will not communicate with the voice commands but will work in manual mode meaning touch the buttons. I will have pics and give you the final by Monday. The correct unit is scheduled to be released in November. Lexus will NOT install the ES330 unit in the IS because of the current problem. hang in there and I will get the answer for you soon!

 

Thanks for you efforts IS300to350!! I can't wait to see your results. At this point I'm really sceptical about a Nov realease date. Sirius is a must have in my car. XM is simply not an option for me. Stern and NFL broadcast are all I care about. I really hope your set up works!!

 

I'll give the results as soon as I can. Sirius is the only option for me as well. I own 5 units between cars boat and golf cart. I can not go back to radio it kills me to listen to it now in the IS

I called the dealer yesterday, and my sales rep quoted me a cost of over $600+. He had no information on when Sirius would be available. I am so bummed!! I have the Sirius S50 that I can use in my car, but I really want one installed. I need to hear my Stern and Pittsburgh Steelers!!

I wish this thread would die b/c that would mean we all would be listening to the NFL, Stern, Jam On, or all the other great Sirius programming but that is not going to happen anytime soon. I just got back from my dealer this morning and my after market specialist said just yesterday they got a memo stating that it will be December at the earliest for our cars. I am going back today at lunch and I told her that I wanted more information and to give me all of my options since I have already paid for it to be installed.

I just don't understand what about this could be so difficult.

 

Well you could be me and had the sirius added to your monthly lease payment because now I'm paying for the install and I don't even have it yet.

I just bought the Sirius S-50 MP3 player and I'm installing that in my car. NFL is coming up and I'm not missing it because Lexus can't get their stuff together.

It's really bad a luxury car brand can't do something as easy as this. It will definitely influence my buying decision in my next car.

yes. there's not that much distinguishing the 2 cars from each other. i always thought the 2 cars were of the same calibre. however, after owning a lexus, i feel like i got a toyota that was all dressed up. even the toyota dealership treated me with better service than the local lexus dealer does. aside from the customer service issues, not being able to get sirius is the only other distinguishing factor that lexus loses to bmw. oh wait, the bmw handles better and is faster off of the line. so ya, maybe i shouldve gotten the bmw.

at least there is some integrated sirius coming.. .my question is.. I was going to order the ipod adapter.. can you use both? or will the sirius unit with the aux use the integrated ipod interface also.. anyone know?

 

I almost positive that you can only use one or the other. Their sites doesnt show both together and once you plug in one unit there is no more on the back of the sterieo to plug in another unit.
