Default Which Lexus will be the first classic?

The first Lexus rolled off the production line in 1990. Since it is still a new car company (less than 20 years), which Lexus do you think will become the first classic/antique after 25+ years?

hm, i think we are getting too old... i dont think of any post 70's car as true classic.

In a sense, first gen LS and SC are already classics...

LS 400 and SC 400 were on Road and Tracks 100 greatest cars. This speaks VOLUMES.

Not even a close race, the SC 300/400.

Well hopefully Lexus can change that. Plus there are plenty of classics that are post 70's. For instance my Celebrity (j/k). Nah, the Delorean, Grand National, and some muscle cars that decided to stick around in that era. That's besides the point. I think the SC was a benchmark into sport luxury.

Also think, the IS-series hit off with the drifting world. Lexus has alot of first in the auto-industry, with every model , so this is going to be a mixed poll and not too biased.

Nah I honestly disagree. I don't think the IS300's going to be a classic. There are way too many of them, and they don't really exemplify Lexus's luxury standpoint. The only thing that i could see being classic is the L-Tuned versions or the ones with full leather interiors.

Add a vote for the SC300/400

I’m not bias bc I have an SC but I'd have to say SC all the way.... what other car that was designed over 15 years ago can still turn heads and have people asking if it was a new car...

Yup - It's amazing, isn't it? My dad's '92 LS w/ over 200K miles still gets comments like:
"Oooh, you drive a Lexus!"

The 1st gen LS was said to be one of the most reliable cars EVER made.

Cool each has it's piece of history...

I voted SC300/400, it was quite unique then and still fits in today...

The LS400 will go down as the full-size luxury car that changed the market, just ask Mercedes Benz...

If there is a category for 'special', that would have to goto the 1st gen. GS300 w/o a doubt! It was designed by Giugiaro's renowned ItalDesign SpA operation. A very subtle departure from what was "Lexus" at the time.

The next Lexus to steal the moment I think will be the LS460 long-wheelbase... it'll supercede every full-size luxury car offered by anyone- just short of a Maybach! Where the LS430 @ $60k offered a similar experience as the $90k S500, the $95k LS460-L will offer a similar experience as the $335k Maybach 57...

SC300/400, hands-down ...........especially compared to the Audi TT look-alike that replaced them.

The LS400, I agree, was superbly engineered ( except for undersized brakes ) but otherwise didn't really stand out from the crowd much....it looked basically like a Japanese Mercedes or an oversized Chrysler K-Car.

Where is the "none of the above" choice?

Seriously, I doubt that any of those cars will ever be considered a classic. Some if not all of them are fine cars, but I don't see low production numbers and high price in any current or past Lexus and this tends to be what defines a classic.

low production does not mean the car is classic. Classic's are also cars that changed the world, in their own sense.

I already look at the SC-series as a classic. An all around great car. Those who have it, better hold on to it.

No, low production does not mean the car is a classic, but it is considered one of the requirements. If you do some google searching on the subject you will see some of the other requirements.
