I voted for the LS since it was the first car that Lexus really spent alot in marketing to sell. Which is premium luxury.

LX is already a classic

I voted LX and LS. I think the original LS400 is insane -- respect.

Only idiots can deny the effect it had on the entire industry.

although I think the SC was a great car for it's time. It won't be a classic.
I think there are just too many highschool kids with SC's right now and they can't get over the fact that it's a "tyte drift machine" so they voted it to be a classic.

I voted LS, and yes...that champagne commercial changed it all. Lexus basically brought the luxury game up a notch for all others to match .

Sorry, I either phrased it wrong or you misinterpreted what I meant. The SC is supposed to be a Sports Coupe but it fails in that regard IMHO. The LS400 fits what it is supposed to be entirely, a fine luxury sedan.

Stock SC's just aren't my cup of tea. I don't like them at all.

I voted LS. I hear what you are saying. I'm one that favors coupes. My SC400 was a good car no doubt, but as you pointed out in stock form in terms of what you generally expect from a "Sports Coupe" it left a lot to be desired. Now, modified they make it up though, but in terms of Classic Cars the only car that really fits and has any shot at becoming a true classic IMHO is the LS.

The SC was a top 10 winner for C&D I believe 6 years, was voted to have the best interior of any car by Automobile, it won comparos as recent as 1999, it does drive sporty and got great reviews for it.

I loved it when I had it. Convinced me RWD/V8 is the way to go.

I love the first generation SC, I still think it's a timeless unique design from Toyota.

I agree with all that except that it drove sporty. At least for me, it was simply a two door luxury boat. No, not a boat ride like the old Caddy's used to be, but it was by far more a luxury ride experience than sports coupe experience at least by my definition. Too me, it really felt like a 2 door version of the LS. Make no mistake I'm not talking about the handling and performance, just the way the car drives and feels.

Well said, I'm hoping that Lexus will redesign the next generation SC as a (CL-Class fighter), pilarless coupe.

Maybe, it'll restore the magic that made the first gen SC so successful.

I find the SC-series will be the first Lexus to become a classic! So many people admire their design, and they were somewhat a first in the automotive world for their styling... Bill Gates once said the SC300 (i believe it was the 300) was of all his cars, his favourite! ...The SC was mentioned in numerous magazines, and won several awards, and is still placed on several monumental lists in the automotive world...

Besides, you dont see them that often! (The older ones of course!)

Thanks for the correction, but the point im trying to make is that the body styling is beautiful... Not which engine it had. My mistake... i didn't remember which one he mentioned, all i knew was that he said it was an SC.

I have talked with a lot of Lexus car salesmen and they say that the SC's are always asked about. They are always looking for good condition SCs because there will be buyers.
