Talking $100K Lexus HLS?

Someone in the Edmunds LS forum posted this article, and it looks like a Lexus Maybach competitor.

http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/n..._hls.66672.htm

I would like to see such a vehicle, but to my mind the LS is and always will be the 'ultimate Lexus'...the best car in the world. Perhaps this 'Super LS' will not adversely affect the image of the regular cars in the range.

As long as it doesn't have that me-too styling as in that pic.

Dont like the styling what the purpose of the car an ls460l would be enough for the super rich. Unless they use that vehicle to replace the toyota century for japan.

the Maybach costs at least three times as much. How can it be a competitor?

Well the 1989 LS 400 was an S-class competitor and started out costing about half as much, with more quality and refinement.

i actually agree.... with the maybach going for 300k, i really dont think a 100k lexus can compete. maybe at 200k+ we are getting into something

but then again, i am not sure if lexus wants to attack that market, yet (if at all)

I agree. The upcoming hybrid LS would be the ultimate Lexus sedan.

considering how Maybachs are selling at only 50% of their projections, I am sure Lexus knows it wouldnt be an great idea.

now, maybe 4-5 years from now, when people get used to 100k LS....

excellent thinking there. if lexus hasn't conquered over bimmer and mb, why would they go against maybach?
