I've been on Vortex for like last 4yrs, bought a mk3 (93-99) GTI and sold it, it wasn't until like at the begining of this yr I realize there's "The Car Lounge", I've notice that a lot of them are arrogant and such, which is another reason I don't browse it much, I usually surf the mk1-mk3 forusm (mk4 drivers are..... ) and Canadian Forum, but I can't believe how stupid they are really until today, I spot 1SICKLEX's post in Car Lounge regarding t he 3GS.

and look at these idiots' response, they really have no respect for anybody.

and This VdubChaos dude annoys the crap out of me, he hates the new GS and posts about it all the time and it's pissing me off.

I honestly wonder how people were raised.

 

eh, what can you do. That's the jealousy factor coming in. After all, if the only tasteful mods you can find to do on a car are wheels, you don't deserve a Lexus. He can't afford a GS, so he hates it. Thats how I see it.

To each their own. Everyones' going to have their own opinion and there's almost nothing you can do to change that. I have a few friends that post on vwvortex, and I don't hold them in same regard as the ones you've shed light on in here...I guess some people are just arrogant and ignorant, not much you can do about that.

 

yea, I had a VW and quite few of my friends are still into VWs.

But I've never really come across a place where its so publicized and have so many idiots, like I noticed a lot of people who post in CarLounge don't have VWs, but they are so sure that everybody should hear about their opinions on things they don't like. Its bloody mind-blowing, and some of those are fathers/mothers, that worries me as what their kids will be like?

 

Yea, you're gonna find people like that on every forum. If you think VW VOrtex is bad, you haven't seen anything till you've seen some of the people on volvospeed.com ..... some of those guys don't give legitamacy to anything.... lexus (especially), bmw, mercedes, acura, infiniti, Evo's, STI's... whenever the name Lexus used to come up, it'd immediately be followed by a derrogatory term attached to the word "Toyota".

 

Yeah some of my buddies do that too. But then i remind them that they drive Jettas LOL

 

I have friends who have VWs, but the man in the Toyota will reign supreme at the end of the day.

besides, most VW owners in NorCal are Roxy chicks

 

i just love when those VW guys paint their calipers and put coolant in the oil

and all the other stupid things they do

 

ummm, i guess i am one of the few that doesn't realy have much feeling about what they say. why care about people that's a waste of your time?

at least i have a car that runs without problem, not one that has so many electrical problems

1) my friend with a bug, both windows motor blew out for no reason. battery kept on dying coz' there is a short "somewhere" inside the car they couldn't find
2) my friend with a passat, windows regulator went crazy, and then later the radiator had problems and car kept on overheating
3) my friend with a jetta, windows motor blew out, and then problems with maf and something else, causing cel to come on all the time. also rear pads all eaten up in 15k miles for no reason

thank god those are all the people i know with vw. and they all told me don't get vw for any reason. it's a waste of money. they regretted it badly.

I wouldnt take it personally. They are entitled to their opinions. I am sure they beiieve their VW is the best car on the road but we know otherwise. I have seen a lot of the different forums bash the styling of the 3rd GS but what can you do? But there is no mistaking the quality and reliabliity, something their VW just wont have

 

I am pretty sure this thread is going to get locked.
But anyhow, I dont understand why you are getting annoyed by this guy not liking the new GS. I dont think it's the best looking car out there either. Some people like it and some hate it. big deal. It's not like everyone on this fourm loves all the car out there. (for example, we had so many honda/acura bashing threads and some are even worse)
