i used to work over at infiniti and i got a friend who still works at lexus.. long story short,, i took out a G35X(Sedan) and he had a sc430.. from light to light down sunrise hwy in Long Island,, about 1/4 mile, the G35 left the sc430 4-5 cars behind.. thats just the sedan.. the 6speed coupe is SICK!!

its very easy to reach 400rwhp with the various superchargers and turbos available for the G35. If you want to increase beyond 400 hp, you need to upgrade the rods. From what i've heard, the rods are the only weak point in the VQ past 400rwhp. If g35driver wasn't down, i'd show you that clip where a Z got an 8 second 1/4 mile. I didnt think it was possible but wow...someone did it...it was auto too. That means someone is bound to do it to the G next. So if your question is your wondering whether the g has potential, then yes, it really does. I'd recommmend g35driver.com for any questions you possibly have, but the site is currently down due to upgrading.

i never drove the g35 but the 350Z is'nt a car you want if you like to drive fast unless you a good driver, you guys should know what i mean by this.
i personally like the g35 100% more than the 350z

g35 350z
slick styling slick styling
six speed manuel six speed manuel
hp 280 hp ???
coupe back seat two seater
longer wheel base (i think) shorten wheel base( easier to loose control)
more attractive to me looks good but will always be second to the g35

it looks like nissan is trying to make a supra / sc300 of their own.

Thumbs up

I would definitely choose a G35 6-speed (sedan or coupe, both are great, I'd probably get the coupe though because it's so damn good-looking) if I was shopping in that ~$30K price range. Wouldn't look at anything else.

I would give it a very mild turbo treatment, maybe 350HP just to have the feel and the sound.

things about g35 that irk me...
the headlites. i think z's better.
taillites. g's LED is the redeeming part about it. the shape of the taillites is not smooth nor square...

but u guys are rite, z only has 2 seats. for some ppl, that's alrete, but others it mite not be so convenienet... for me, that's ok.

and i love g's navigation, it's so coool. it levels up. whereas z's only a lil cover
