HA! What is there to discuss? Lexus placed a huge majority of its cars in the 5 star and toyota did at least 90% in the 4-5 star catagory. Thats including the Scions.
No surprise there for the Toyota family. Frankly I'm surprised by Volvo though. I figured they'd be pretty low and the the XC90 would be HIGHER than the others.

I found that to be a bit suprising myself, but I guess a reality. Just looking at the local papers I see equal year LS400/430s selling for the same price if not sometimes lower than equal year GS430s, and in the earlier years SC400s.
Another thing I find interesting is in the 5 star line up most are SUV/Trucks or Minivans. Of the 6 Toyota vehicles 5 are SUV/Trucks. I find it hard to believe the Celica has that good a market value as well or at least better than a Camry. Half the 5 Star Lexus line up is SUVs as well.

It seems to be always true that the higher the price, the higher the depreciation.
Except for the Acura RL which is actually a little suprising considering it is the 2004 model and not the new 05. Looking at used car prices I have noticed that even though the 3rd Gen RL was no real competition it seems to have a good resale value. The car itself was build very solid, it just didn't have a strong enough engine to compete.

You've got THAT right. The RL was a fantastic luxury cruiser, loaded with features and comfy luxury. It stickered at a very reasonable price and was then discounted heavily due to poor sales. The RL ages well (rock-solid construction), and the sliver of the market who appreciates it for what it is was enough to keep depreciation low.
