Red face Stating the Obvious --Don't Drive Too Fast

Being a "young man" driving a car like this around my area definately gets me no respect from cops. Never got off easy on a ticket -- no warning, etc. I just got my insurance dropped less than a week ago -- along with that the insurance of my family, whom were in a package family plan in which I was included. My parents were expecting this to happen so they aren't shocked. They were laughing about it, which makes me feel even more worse. Tickets suck and I seem to have not learned my lession.

96 in a 70... $175
42 in a 25 ... $112
64 in a 45 ... $ 112
43 in a 25 ... $112
110 in a 65 ... $515
42 in a 25 ... $112

Total = $1138

I got real lucky on the 110 in a 65 ... That was in Georgia, and they could have sent me to jail for "attempted manslaughter". I just ended up getting a reckless driving ticket and was ALLOWED to keep my license only because it was Chirstmas.

And just last week I got a Passport 8500 X50 ... I think I should have gotten that a little sooner?

Drive slow guys, not worth all the trouble, the danger, the guilt ... and the money.

man, 6 tickets in a yr? if you are in cali you won't have to worry anymore coz' you would have lost your licence by then. slow down man, and thank god you don't have the gs4 already.

and one last advice, glad that you got the radar detector, but don't rely on it as another reason to speed even more

Unhappy Idiot first driver

Got my first ticket within my first thirty days of driving - 70 in a 55

Got my next ticket after 10 months of driving - 65 in a 50.

Oh well, went to traffic school for the first one, second one cost me a point.

Now I have a much better system of speeding - I only do 15 over if there is someone next to me doing 20 over

And Brendan, I agree with Rom, all this in a GS3? You'd just be cop bait with a V8 under the hood

granted i drive a gs4 and that thing is stupid fast, and you get there very easily

and yeah, usually if you are within 15mph over limit, cops let you go, coz' you are not the big ticket item (for thsoe in cali)

Damn. I thought my history was extensive. Two by the same cop in the same week when I was 16. Another when I was 18. Then another in 2001, senior year of college. I've gotten numerous tickets for not wearing a seatbelt and not displaying a front plate but I'm not even going there

One thing I noticed: When a cop pulls you over and sees you already have a history of speeding etc., they like to keep adding on to that history, whereas if you're generally clean you're more likely to get off with a warning. The fact you have that GS doesn't help either.

But yeah, slow down mang, it took me a while to learn too. The risk is not worth it, plus that history follows you around for some time, which equals higher insurance rates, some may not insure you at all if present too much of risk. Even on my commute to work I've slowed down some and it saves gas. At the end of the week I'd normally be on "E", now that I drive a lot more "civil" I'm at a 1/4 tank instead.

Brendan, that's one good thing about livin' down South, we usually get to keep licenses longer than some of our more "cosmopolitan" brothers. And I agree that most speeding tickets amount to revenue generation for the county/city/fork in the road dungheap administration.

But you CAIN'T BE DOIN' THAT SCHIT runnin' nekkid........glad you got some electronics finally. (I'm assuming that you're doing all this in reasonably responsible fashion).

KEEP THAT PASSPORT WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES!! Surely you by now realize that you will not feel some disturbance in the Force when the police are near............

I dont have a radar detector and i frequently drive 25 mph over the speed limit since i got my license (almost 4 yrs now).... radar detectors are really overrated imo just watching out for undercover cops and being ready to make a lane change at all times ... however i have been pulled over once on hwy 280 ( brendanlim, im sure about the 280 cops by now) ... i was going 80 in a 55 but i talked myself out of the ticket w/ some slick talking and pulling the poor college student trick (not sure how well that would work in a lexus lol) also the best way to talk to cops is to answer their questions with another question so u never admit to anything ... my 0.02

Holy smokes, you sure drive fast!!! I don't drive fast anymore because I hate getting speeding tickets (hot 2 so far). I drive more carefully nowdays and drive by speed limit or 5mph above speed limit at most.

30km/h is under 19mph - what a stupidly low speed limit (unless you're in a golf cart ). I'd just avoid that road!

And Brendan, real sorry to hear about the tickets my friend... what are you and the family going to do about insurance!? Or are you going to just start selling blood plasma to cover any accidents you guys might have?
