Paid my $175 and realized it was a waste of my time .. and money.

I keep it at the speed limit. I never had a ticket in my 14 months of driving. I was in a friend's car when the CHP got her for 82 in a 65. Imagine if she was driving my LS, she coulda topped 90-100 in it!

You don't have to keep it absolutely 100% dead-on at the limit all the time, but you've basically got the right idea. Most cops, in most states, don't bother with anything within 5-10 MPH of the limit except for those rare purpose-set traps that get unwary people for as little as 2 MPH over.....they are designed more for revenue than actual safety. Georgia used to be notorious for that...getting unwary out-of state tourists on their way to Florida. D.C now has calibrated speed-cameras that don't have much leeway, either. And D.C is so congested you really can't speed anyway...and would be foolsh to try. But most places, most of the time, don't operate like that.
Anyhow...you got the right idea. You won't have to worry about points, insurance surcharges, or a suspended or revoked license. And people won't be afraid to ride with you.
