Question thoughts on daily transportation

I'm looking to lease an inexpensive daily beater for 24 mos. I'm thinking about a Maxima, Altima or Scion TC. By the way , does anyone know when the turbocharged version is due out? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I just turned in my 2001 GS 430 but want to lower my monthly expenditures temporarily(just bought a new house and 4th kid on the way).

Thanks

Maybe look at the Camry, Mazda6 and Accord as well.

Drive them all and then make a decision.

Nissan is not so hot right now - and I'd probably stay away until things get straightened out. The Altima is a rattle-box I hear. And the new Maxima is just an Altima with fake quad exhaust; the interior is terrible (and nearly identical) on both.

I pretty much agree with whip on the newer Nissans. But can you define what you consider "inexpensive"?...that term could cover a lot of vehicles and a broad payment range.

I can give you some good recommendations once I know what your envelope is....what you will consider in terms of payment, reliability, practicality, etc.....

I'm thinking of keeping my monthly payments under $400/month(the lower the better). No money down and 17-18K miles/yr for 24 months.

Thanks

I agree with the used ES300 idea. My car is a used 98 with only 46k miles and the lexus dealer threw in a 3 year/36,000 warranty to boot. The 2002+ ES300 is a bigger and nicer ride though. Tthe car is rock solid with no rattles and no problems at all.

I've had 2 car seats back there and its easy to get them in and out of the car, seems like a 3rd could fit also.

stay away from the tC for at least a few more months. On ScionLife.com they're talking about manual tranny problems and rear wheel lock-up during fast manuever problems. Beware. But I'm sure Toyota will have it sort out in a short time.

Right now I think some dealers here in CA have the Mazda 6 for $5500 off MSRP for ALL 6's in stock. That's a great deal, you can get a V6 Mazda 6 with sports package for around 17k + TTL.
