The VR6 is one of best VW engines there is, besides the old 1.6-1.8 engines. But it does have an issue with running HOT, my friend cracked the head in his VR6 when the electric water pump the cools the head went out.
and whoever owned that VR used Prestone instead of G12, VW did not spec G12 in their engines for nothing.
