At the end of the day everyone has to realize that its not other people's responsibility to conform to your moral code. Your moral code is your moral code, not mine. If you don't want to use curse words, you shouldn't use curse words. You not wanting to use them doesn't mean other people can't use them. I have seen you use curse words @mmarshall , you XX them out but the intention of what you said is there and the word you were saying is very clear. I was really surprised to see you do that.

Thats part of living in a free society, you have to deal with being exposed to things that you don't like because other people have a right to say and do those things.

Once cursing is used in jest and not profanity riddled it should be okay. We are adults.

I have noticed a more free spirited forum even when compared to like 6 months ago. I couldnt stand the old one where the ban or close hammer is always at the ready and treated everyone like ******* children. In the past the thread would have been closed and me banned even before I can finish typing a terrible word like Trump. The top threads are full of political speak and it is refreshing to know that we are allowed to be adults. As long as we are respectful to each other, have at it boys.

I agree, its much better now. I agree that politics should by and large be kept out, but the mere mention or allusion to political realities is being allowed and that is a huge improvement.

Maybe the forum can finally grow and not just the same 15 to 20 people posting all the time.

This type of social media, public online forums, has and is declining largely due to other types of social media coming along. People chase the shiny new thing. Some also like having newer options to engage in group think discussions that won't make them feel like they need to run off to their safe space.

I feel like the Lexus Facebook group are a little more respectful than the forums because they can't hide behind anonymity like in here.

Sure, there are fake accounts and anonymous posters but that's the minority.

I have a dislike for FB groups because there is no long format structure like on here, plus endless bots and burner accounts gets old.

There is a software solution allow users to have keyword censor turned on or not. Maybe this version of vBulletin is too primitive.

I do get a kick out of random FB group posts that get put in my feed where people ask the dumbest questions.

Lately i've been seeing a number of tinted BMW owners asking people to photoshop their windows clear to fight a ticket.

The flight sim communities on FB are even more hilarious.

People do ask stupid questions on FB when a simple Google search will suffice

I don't have a lot of sympathy for those kinds of drivers. They should think about that before they over-tint and over-darken their windows. Tinting-laws exist for several reasons. One of them is to improve night vision. Another one is to protect police officers, during traffic-stops, from those inside the car who could be using the tint to try and hide a weapon.

Politics can be discussed, as long as people show respect and don't toss personal barbs. The problem is that everyone thinks that their own view is correct and everyone else is wrong....when, in reality, many issues today are often extremely complex, and simple right/wrong/black/white arguments alone won't cut it.

That's why, for example, although there are some issues where I disagree with him, or think he talks off-the-cuff too much, I won't jump on the classic Hate-Trump bandwagon like many today are doing. I can see where he has an extremely difficult job, he is aging just like Biden was (although his mind is still a little sharper than Biden's), time is catching up to him, and, no matter what he does, many love him and many hate him.
