I don't even open my sunroof, pano even once a year so I don't particularly care. I wonder what the statistic is for people that actually open their roof, maybe just like Frunks?
I use mine all the time. I constantly see people using the "venting" function of sunroofs as well where you just tilt it.
If you don't use it generally you keep it covered with a physical shade. These massive glass roofs are just attracting more heat and light that no one asked for.. and the "electrochromatic" shades that turn the glass opaque don't actually do anything to reduce heat in the car when you have the car parked outside, despite all their marketing telling you it's heat resistant. that's my personal take on it.
Again, just because you don't use it, why take the function away from those who do... or make it an option and charge $1-2k for it! This is just cost cutting.
Its actually pretty good use of space when you realize both are in between two wireless phone chargers
well, it is stupid to have start stop button.
If you have to have it, then thats very good place because your hand is going to be close to it all the time (above phone, under screen) and it is visible.
There's another new cost cutting trend incoming.. I can already hear the marketing speak "oh but it's more aero friendly, most aerodynamic SUVs!".....
What I'm talking about is the new window-trim integrated electronic door handles which the Ford Mach E from 2021 uses... The new Volvo EX60 has this door handle. The upcoming new-gen BMW X5/iX5, X7/iX7, and Audi Q7 and Q9 are all going to feature this new door handle style too if you check out the spy shots.
Guess they are saving significant cost in the door manufacturing process as they don't need a secondary process to stamp/press in the door for the door handles.

Some of us old school drivers like to have a way to confirm a machine is in "run mode" or "stop mode".
I don't "have to have it", but I prefer to actively turn my car on and turn my car off. Like I said before, carmakers are going to make their EVs more similar to legacy ICE cars as they work harder to get people to adopt them.

On-off button in an EV is beyond stupid. The car turns on when you step on the brake and turns off when you get out. Like why would you want to keep pressing buttons when you absolutely don't have to? Thank God I don't have to follow this unnecessary ritual
Probably should post this in another thread but I asked my friend (Y and 3 owner) what he thinks about the Highlander and he said for the right price he will be interested but he would hate to lose FSD (he loves it) going to another manufacturer…testament how good FSD is!!
Like Ioniq N and Charger EV owners just to name a couple???
I had two Ioniq's, the 2020 Ionic EV and Ioniq 5 EV, both had Start-Stop buttons and both didn't need them. OK the 2020 Ioniq EV shared the same platform as the hybrid so I got that, but I didn't get them putting it in the 2023, but whatever. The first time I experienced a car with no Start/Stop button was the Polestar, and I was sold. Now all I need is for my next car to read my mind and put it in gear using thought. Just kidding
