Toyota dropped a new vehicle teaser this morning with the tagline, "Something new is on the horizon."
A couple of takeaways...
1. I wasn't able to recover any details from the shadows. The PR folks are getting too smart with shadows.
2. This is a new rear lighting signature that I can't tie to any models or concepts that I've seen.
3. It looks boxy out back so I'm thinking SUV.
4. Toyota loves to give little hints in their teasers. There was a limited edition "Toyota LandCruiser 200 Sahara Horizon" released back in 2020 in a couple global markets.
Looks more like a truck to me. I read a while ago that Toyota was going to come out with a more compact pickup to compete with the Ford Maverick and I'm wondering if this could be it?
I don't believe it's a truck. Look at the angle from the video, which is slightly higher than the still photo... that's not a full-length bed, it's just the taillights sticking out a few inches from the back hatch --
Kirk Kriefels is hypothesizing that it's going to be a Highlander based on this concept from 2021 (then known as the BZ Large SUV) --
We obviously don't have the right angle to confirm, but those appear to be double-taillights similar to the teaser --
and somewhat like the Land Cruiser SE concept (but the door hatch doesn't work on this one) --
I don't know if Kirk is correct about the model name, but whatever it's called is likely going to be one of these SUVs.
